Affordable Summer Tires - C&D test 08/09

I brought this up on the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta thread (which unfortunately are not in this test). It's a good review. Note that tires tested are in size 225/45-17 on BMW 328i coupes, and all are not available in 19-inch sizes. Eveb thgose that come in 19s are more limited than the wide selection Michelin has. Michelin PS2s are excellent in the wet, but not at the top in the dry. Be sure to factor in the cost, tread wear index and weights when comparing results.

Dont think so, but maybe. Just read through some of the posts in the RAC thread and the color referenced is Arctic Silver

Let's move this to the right thread.

PM the owner of Rac, and ask him if there are two different silvers offered by the factory. (and what are the official names assigned to each)

He should tell you what I posted above. (unless the factory is now offering the dull looking silver again) I sure hope not...

No, they do not. That's one area Michelin cannot be beat in - size selection.

Thanks a lot for the scan Greg. Some very strong results from brands that in general do not get enough respect. I know this for sure, I ain't getting MPS2s next.

Stop being such a hardass and give the Vredestien tires a chance man!

There relatively cheap and the overall performance is fantastic. I promise you'll never go back to any of the other 'well known brand names'...

BTW: Performance Plus Tires in Cali sells these...

Choose: "search for tires by size"

They're a great shop too. I've been going there for years. I'm just a little worried about a 275 on a 10" RAC wheel.

That's where I'm going. A big factor also is they come in the sizes I want (255 & 275/35-19), which many of the reviewed tires do not. Tires-Easy.com based in Portland also carries them for Northwest guys.

Why are you worried? Do you think a 275 is too skinny of a tire?

Why?

A 275/35/19 tire is the perfect section width with a very good sidewall height for a 19x10 wheel.

That size works like a charm, and its as close as you can get to the factory 265/35/19's rolling diameter.
