Easy DIY - Improve the engine brace to CF beauty
I wanted to share out my latest DIY, in addressing one of the most obvious visible changes to make on the G8X models.
Candidly, opening the hood the first time on the new M3 and M4 (and new M2!!!) was the change in the engine brace. The F8X is a work of carbon fiber art, while the new one really isn't great by comparison. I was surprised by how plain it was, and at times even the weld lines aren't that great. (Seriously BMW what the heck??) So... LET'S fix it! There are a bunch of great aftermarket choices for a better brace, but the in-house designed carbon fiber brace from Kies Motorsports is awesome! The install is really easy and is a dramatic change in appearance as well. I cannot WAIT to get one of these in my G87 once it arrives, as Kies has confirmed it absolutely fits there too. Check it out and seriously consider this easy upgrade for your G8X model!

I'm not judging, but cosmetic engine bracing is SOOO far down my list of mods. It's so rarely seen by anyone, unless you are popping your hood at every Cars and Coffee event?
But hey, if it makes you happy, go for it. |
