DFW Auto Club Dyno Day 12/13 (56k death)
many many thanks to my friend adam who arranged all of this...it was his birthday party. i think it's safe to say we had a blast today. i have tons of videos to chop so i probably won't be posting any until late tonight or tomorrow. below are the pics!
details on location: the new autoscope location in dallas "the dream garage". words can't describe how impeccable these new facilities are. everything is modern and clean...and the dynos.... they are twin AWD mustang dynos complete with a drag race setup...tree and all. as you'll see when i post the video, my M3 did a 12.13@113mph in the quarter mile. definitely surprised a few people. cars in attendance: ferrari 612 scaglietti (an absolutely gorgeous car), ford GT, 2 nissan GT-R's, multiple M5's, M6's, and E92 M3's all modded, 997 porsche turbo, E92 335, Z4M, Z3M, audi S5, merc C63 AMG, chevy C5 Z06 modified, a couple SRT8 jeep cherokees , and a V8 swap mazda RX7. (i hope i got them all) VIDEOS FROM EVENT: Last edited by Blake; 12-25-2008 at 12:42 AM.. |

S6 no LC. a note about those mustang dynos...according to some quick research, those 1/4 mile times are accurate to within a tenth of a second. i'll post a video of the run as soon as i get a chance...you'll hear wheel spin and everything due to the feedback the mustang dyno provides, although there probably is some play in there.

http://www.smokinvette.com/corvettef...99&postcount=2 - he seems to know his shit fairly well, since i'm sure the dyno conversation will come up.

That's an amazing group of cars in one place. I wish I could have been there to see them in person.
That shop has a killer setup. How much does he charge for a dyno session? Your trap speed seems a little low for the 12.1 time your car ran. Any idea why?

the setup is absolutely unreal. i wish they did warranty work, because i'd take my car there. i should have taken pictures of their lobby, conference room, and other related areas because they're all brand new, luxurious, and state of the art. as far as costs, i'm sure we can work a deal with them...but less than $100 for a few pulls. if you're interested in getting some numbers when you're in town later this month, let me know, i'll set you up with them. about my trap speed, i have no idea. i'm not a drag expert at all.

2005 chevy corvette c5 modded on the dyno (my camera fucked up and didn't record the last few seconds, i'm pretty sure it was because of the deafening exhaust.)
