To all those that are interested in my ESS kit, I talked to Mike at BPM Motorsport whom I'm getting the Harrop kit from.

He said that I'm getting the last kit that Harrop is going to produce and there is a 1 to 2 month delay before I will receive the kit. So this post is premature and my ESS kit wont be for sale till April or May.

Curious why is Harrop stopping production? Cos E9x is a much older chassis?

That's a great question to send to Harrop!

Doesn't make sense to keep on using company resources if you can't make a profit right?

I'm getting it for their typical asking price of 10k. I know Mike at BPM is working hard to get them to produce a few more kits as he doesn't want people who are currently trying to get the kit to be let down.

I really got lucky with this one for sure.

Good question. Perhaps they just weren't making the profit that they want from it. Maybe the demand is low, I'm really not sure.

Indeed… I think the premium price was a major deterrent. If they could have only figured out a way to be more competitive in price against ESS, I think they could have sold many more.

(Not to say it's nothing worth it, but price is certainly always a factor).

I suspect pricing is a big part of it.

It's not being stopped, just no more US sales form what I've heard. Due to not being CARB compliant and then not wanting to spend the money to make it so.
