Karbonius full CF manifold for S65! It's here!

After years of hounding Mr Karbonius to build what BMW never built for the S65, here it is!

It all started years ago on the M3F, where Karbonius builds an excellent replica of the E46M CSL Airbox. Someone said they were out of business, then eventually posted their phone number and I recognized it to be from Spain, where I'm from.
I called and spoke to the owner who confirmed they were still around. While talking I asked if he had thought of building one for the S65... one thing led to another and Karbonius ended up buying a E92 for testing!

It has been under development for years but we finally have a unit in the US!

The airbox underwent airflow studies and is larger capacity than the stock one which in theory should gain some power, however, I feel it is worth it regardless.

I'll perform a back to back dyno with and without it to see whether we gain anything other than heavenly music.

I hope you like it!

The system is composed of 4 parts:
-CF manifold
-CF elbow
-CF air filter/box cover
-ITG high flow filter

I will open a group buy thread after testing is complete, so hang on we are almost there!

The money shot:

-------------------------------------

Update 5/31/18

Round BMW logo: can be changed for any other logo, but the replacement must be round

Karbonius sticker: the box can be sent without any sticker installed and with an optional M Power sticker like traditional E46 CSL airboxes

Air filter: the full kit ships with the ITG oil filter. The OEM paper filter also works, as do all OEM replacement filters

Official pics from Karbonius:

Official info on FB:
https://www.facebook.com/karbonius.f...63890803899547

Kit includes:
- Airbox
- Tube
- AirFilter cover
- ITG high flow airfilter
- Certificate of authenticity
- Tools for installation

It is difficult to find such a well-designed intake system as genuine BMW S65, but we got it, and data confirm our words:

- Weight:
• BMW Stock intake (airbox + tube + airfilter cover): 6,677 gr
• Karbonius intake (airbox + tube+ airfilter cover): 3,635 gr.

- Power:
• Karbonius S65 Airbox: +9HP* (price 2520 €**)
• Karbonius S65 Airbox + Alpha-N mapping:
+32HP* (price 2399+1073€= 3474 €**)
*These data are approximate and depend on the state of the vehicle
**All prices are in euros and VAT and shipment are not included

[Group Buy pricing to be announced]

How are the upper and lower halves sealed together? What's that threaded port? Naws EDIT - derp - IAT The stock plenum just sits on top of the valvecover oil separators, how do those bosses work? Take pics of how that's different/mates up if you can please when you do the install.

Rad.

Also, will he sell it to us without his giant sticker on it?

Impressive workmanship. Is this air filter bigger than the stock one? Can it use the OEM filter? I tend to stick with OEM paper filters whenever possible.

The ITG filter is off the counter. I believe it would work with any aftermarket or even the OEM paper filter

Does the top sit higher than the stock plenum? It'd be nice to see a schematic that compares dimensions. I have a strut brace that goes over the top of the plenum.

I haven't installed it. I'm leaving this afternoon to Barcelona and won't be back until the 4th, but it'll be installed ASAP!

It's taller for sure. They maximized the volume. Not sure how much taller it is but I'd bet it won't work with your brace
