Did you remove the fender wheel liners for your vent mods?

I removed those long ago. But it would make sense that you need to remove them for the venting.

Hey Gabe, I have a chance to buy Pirelli DH scrubs supposedly with only 3 heat cycles, same size what you are running.
How do they compare to BFG R1S 285/30/18? I can barely fit these in front with 3 mm spacer on 18x10.5 et22
As far as I know dh slicks are not as wide, but are they taller, same or lower?

645 or 660? 645 is close to 35.

If you can fit 285/30/18 R1S, then I believe 305/645/18 DH should be ok. 305 Pirelli DH run narrow. They are slightly narrower than 295 Hoosier. 645 is somewhere in the range of 30-35. You have to start worrying more when you’re looking at 660. That starts to get a bit tall.

I was looking at 305/645. But looks like they are not available any more.
The problem with taller than 30 in my case is, they will get too close to the front MCS lower perch.

Well, as far as I know, there's nothing shorter than a 645 in 18" anyway, so that's going to be your shortest option.

It would be great if someone can take a pic of mounted Pirelli DH slicks of above mentioned sizes next to mounted 285/30 R1s or 295/30 R7s

I have Pirelli 305/645/18 mounted on 10.5" rims here. I measure the diameter to be around 25.25". Tread width is around 11".

Tirerack.com lists the 295/30/18 Hoosier R7 on a 10" rim as diameter 25.3". Now, tirerack.com lists the tread width as 10.7" for the Hoosiers. This is a pile of horseshit. I have A7 295 in my garage unmounted. They are wider than that. I measure the A7 tread width to be around 11.75". If I stack a set of mounted 295 A7s next to a stack of 305 Pirellis, the A7 stack of 4 tires is noticeably taller than the Pirellis. So, there's NO WAY that the Hoosier tread width is smaller than the Pirelli.

You saw my tire rack in my trailer. It's the shelf with the cabinets above the tires. Both tires fit very similarly in the tire rack in my trailer from a height (diameter) standpoint.

The DH's run quite narrow for their stated size. A 305 DH was noticeably narrower then a 295 RR on the same rim and a 295 A7 was noticeably wider then the RR..

The games that tiremakers play are silly. A vendor once told me that Pirelli's 265/645/18 DH tread width was .25" wider than their 275/645/18.........I never measured it for myself, but if it's true, that's just silly.....what's the point of the numbers if they don't mean anything?

Huge monster performance mod update......

I decided to replace the front windshield. Disappointed? C'mon----anyone out there driving a pitted, rough, cracked windshield knows how exciting this is!!! Still no? sigh...

The old windshield had been on the car since mid-2015, so I think I got good use out of it. When I was at Pueblo a couple months ago, something hit my windshield while I was landscaping for them.....the impact mark was more than half an inch. It hadn't run yet, but you know how these things go.....in some future track day-----you're in a hurry right before a session, spray the windshield to clean it in the bright sun or it's cold or whatever the stupid scenario is that makes these things run.....and.....it starts to run. Certain organizers are not friendly regarding cracks in windshields. And after 6 years, the windshield was quite rough and full of chips. I was really starting to notice how bad it was while driving. So, it was time.

I laughed at how clear it is to look out the windshield now.

This mod is worth like 6 seconds per lap right?

I know......you'd think so. I was so half-hearted about the cleaning of the dash while the windshield was off. I reluctantly wet a paper towel and swished it around a bit and called it done. So lame. So sad. I'm a bad boy.

Did not do it myself. A local glass place was willing to come to my house. Was very appreciative of that!

I had tried calling Safelite because that's what I know. They couldn't do it for over a month. These guys came out in a couple days. Did a great job. CMC Auto Glass. Super nice. And a great price.

haha yes I’m trying to make my garage as light as possible. Drilled out all the braces. I swapped out all the screws on the garage door opener with titanium screws, and the garage door is made out of carbon fiber. And the garage door opener slide track is carbon fiber. Looking for active aero options to make the garage stick to the ground better.

Yeah you needed to use this time with the windshield out to go full-crazy and pull the dash and seat and paint your cage red or white or some color!

You know what the sad reality is? Doing a clear coat on the cage so that I could see the metal was the most expensive option!!! The bids for painting it a color were cheaper than clear coating it.....Makes no sense to me, but I'm sure a paint expert could enlighten all of us.
