Drop in filter vs complete intake system: Loudest?

The MS kit has air scoops. Air scoops catch air and debris so you need to routinely clean the airbox. The debris doesn't get past the filter, so I don't see it being an issue.

Im not sure if its the same on the e92 but the scoops would cause over heating issues on the e46 so I have always been nervous about using them

I haven't seen the E9X scoops in person, but I can see it being a problem on the e46 with the smaller kidney openings.
