A set of Michelin Super Sport tires will cost you your whole month. If you are asking you already know its probably high risk.

As others have said, try to save for a house. 5% DP and get 3-4 roommates to cover your mortgage payment.

The M is a very expensive car to own. Gas, tires, maintenance, repairs, etc. If you can't pay cash a car you probably shouldn't own it.

Plenty of time for an M3 in the future.

In the words of Kid President, "don't stop believing, unless your dream is stupid, then you should get a better dream".

I bought mines at 19, car note is 650 a month luckily my dad pays my insurance. It's not a huge pain to own honestly just keep a credit card available for any setbacks. I'm 21 now and still love it 100k miles and hopefully 200k and more in the future. Just be smart with your money and save when you can. And yes I'm in community college as well and it is the best daily driver.

Buy a nicely cared for E92 335i - super fun car I have one as my 'back-up' car, paid cash for it last year and is total fun car. It's very different than my M3 cause you have a ton of torque with the twin turbo's (N54 engine). You can find very nice examples of a E90 or E92 335i or X-drive version for about $10K.

You can't wrong with the E9x chassis period honestly 😂 there all beauty's. Just don't want anyone to feel these cars are impractical and unaffordable.

The key to car satisfaction is a controlled progression. No point in stretching yourself thin, as it will set a habit for you in the future. You can tell yourself that you'll be satisfied for a very long time, but you'll only be lying to yourself.

Get an E36 M3. Great car feels like the E9X's older brother. Anyone who's driven one knows what I mean. Cheaper, and easier to maintain, very reliable many last past 200k, and they're appreciating. You can't afford the E9X, trust me. Also, convertibles are gross.
