Dealer won't cover rotor replacement?
I'm at 45k and still on original brakes, they're starting to squeal and when I went in for my oil change at 45k and asked the dealer about the brakes they agreed to change pads+sensors but not the rotors. When I asked about them being a matched set my SA told me "BMW does not replace rotors under the maintenance plan". Really? Before I call BS I'd like to hear what you guys have experienced? I searched and it seems a lot of trackheads have had theirs replaced in as few as 1500 miles in extreme cases. Next closest dealership is 1.5 hours but I'm willing to travel, this dealership has been AWFUL to work with.

Yeah, I recall as well that people have replaced their brakes under warranty. I think they are bullshitting you

Yep you should call bs on that. Especially at 45'. I called last week and asked if the pads and rotors where changed together or not and was told the rotors are changed at the same time. They also know I track my car I've talked with them several times about it.

they will replace rotors if they need to be replaced. I recommend you bit the shit out of your breaks and go for a service at 49K in another dealer (not the same) |

Rotors are covered as long as they're under minimum spec. If they're not under spec then you only get pads and sensors. Don't understand why the advisor would tell you that rotors aren't coverd. Maybe it's his first day on the job.

It's not, he started there over a year ago. But I have little faith in them, of my last 3 oil changes I've had the fill cap put on incorrectly twice leading to oil all over my engine bay. Needless to say I've had enough of them - even though we have the "#1 BMW master tech in the country".

I remember the dealer mentioning to me regarding another BMW that brake-related warranty runs out at 20k km (pads at 10k) or something like that.

Perhaps in Canada but here in the US, the brakes are covered for the full four year warranty/maintenance period...

Maybe the tech is #1, but the advisor sounds like he is the weakest link, goodbye. I'm glad you're taking it to another dealer. The one you're going to doesn't sound like they know their head from their ass. 2 times the oil cap wasn't even put on right? That's just ridiculous.

Yes another dealer is in my near future, what sucks is there are 3 "around" me but all 60-70 miles away which means a day off of work to visit the dealer.
