Does this significantly reduce visibility at night? One thing I hate about the stock xenons is that they look a little too yellowish. I wish our headlights were more like Audis purplish look. My dad's S6 looks so much better at night than my M3.

keep in mind the higher the kelvin, the lower the luminosity
i.e the more colour you add the less bright
anything over the stock 4300K is less bright and is more for looks

you have to remove the tires to swap?

That sucks...they should have made it easier.

It reflects with a nicer color that's for sure. I think that's what gives us the illusion of better lighting but in reality it's just want we want to believe. I'll think that too once I install mine

Nicee!...you don't have to take off the wheel to install though. I jacked up the car on one side, turned the wheel, and did it from there. Then the same thing to the other side. I love it and if there is less light then i havent noticed.

stock HID is 4300K at 3200 lumens
6000K is between 2400-2800 lumens (depending on bulb manufacturer)
so you lose between 12-20% light output for the bluer colour
no german car company uses more than 4300K bulbs standard

if you really want 6000k, maybe you can get the 50w kit
OEM is 35w

lol look whos trying to be a smart ass. DOT standardized 4300K as all stock output because it is the highest output, so anything above that decreases output but 6000K not by much, barely noticable based on the geometry of the housing. 10000K, obvious difference duh. I highly doubt those 6k bulbs make much of a difference.

im not trying to be a smart ass. he thought 6k are better than OEM. they are not. but they look cool right

and its noticeable. it was almost like 6ks dimmed the light out, ive had both. 4300k is a little yellow but is much more crisp and clear. 6k is just blue. OEM is the optimum output for a reason. why mess with the best maybe its because i live in a urban area with not many street lights.

I wouldn't consider a 20% loss not much. Imagine if you lost 20% of a $100k investment. Not much?

Ive had 3000K, 5000K, 6000K, 7500K, 8000K, and 10000K hid kits before (previous cars). I know the differences. And I highly doubt output is lost by 20%, and comparing luminosity to money? WTF LOL HIS4 you're funny guy. Whatever, they do look good and its his car his mod and its not ricey so CHEERS

Just saying, 20% loss is not nothing no matter if you're talking about money or light output. The lumen output quoted by kmarei is consistent with the lumen output specs published by Philips and Osram Sylvania who are the two major OEM suppliers for HID lamps.
