so you lose between 12-20% light output for the bluer colour
no german car company uses more than 4300K bulbs standard

if you really want 6000k, maybe you can get the 50w kit
OEM is 35w
What about this option?? Get th 50w kit

I would suggest you to get a pair to test them and then you can tell everyone if you lost 20% of light or visibility or whatever it is ...

And Shick is right ... the difference is not that big between 4300k and 6k ... you can see things more clearly in my opinion. It's like to compare Halogen light to Xenon ... Xenon is better because the light is not that yellow ... the same thing here ...

if that were the case
more manufacturers would be using them no?
i don't know of any european car companie who use 6000K as oem spec
only ones i know are japanese
but then again a ricer is usually japanese too
and unless i am mistaken, your 6000K bulbs were tinted blue
anytime you tint a bulb, you take away brightness

i'm with you they look better, no doubt about that
but i know the bluish tint you see in Audi's is a function of their reflectors and the cut off of the beam, not the bulbs
they also use 4300K bulbs

only one way to find out
i am not so sure they will give an error code
usualy you get the code when the resistance of a circuit changes
but in most HID kits, the resistance is very low as it's more of a relay function
i.e. a minimal votage just to turn on the ballast
and then the volage gets bumped up
i don't know if the OEM HID would give you an error if one of the HID bulbs was out?
anyone seen that before?

A 20% decrease in light output is very noticeable. What you guys are seeing is an increase in contrast because of the color of the light that is being put out. Is it better? That's really just a matter of opinion. Is it brighter or equal in brightness to a 4300K lamp? Absolutely not.

I have tested them with a light meter before. The difference is measurable and noticeable to the naked eye when compared side by side.

Kmarei, I believe the Japanese manufacturers use 5000K for their lamps. I don't know of any manufacturer that uses 6000K as OEM. You are correct in the fact that the bluish tinge of the Audi lights are produced by the way the beam is cutoff by the reflector.
