How come there's a war about this type of crap amongst us as M3 Lovers seriously does it really matter which I enjoyed driving the whole point is that we all enjoy a beautiful Masterpiece made by BMW we shouldn't make others feel like crap because of their choice. I thought we were all here to share our passion not our hatred and separate. I'm just Saying fellas I thought we were a family

LOL - just had this conversation with a coworker yesterday. Both are great.... I think the only negative would be if you've never driven manual in your life, you definitely need to experience it! But MT does not need to be life.

I can understand being mad at the company not giving a choice for MT but why make fun of and separate yourself from the other BMW enthusiast for their choice

the true enthusiasts won't talk or critizise, it's the haters that can't afford the dual clutch or have zero knowledge of the technology behind it. i am not a fan of automatic transmissions at all (torque converters/no clutch) but I don't hate on them. what is ironic is the dual clutch cars are usually faster on tracks.

envy is a horrible trait.

Exactly the Dual Clutch are Faster on the Track and that's my point when the crew rolling together there's no such things as who's car is better or faster were having fun on the road

I guess you didn't understand or you didn't know that there's a rivalry going between MT and DCT

Can't afford a DCT? On the used market DCT goes for about the same, if not a little less, as 6MT and I highly doubt anybody shopping for a new $70k sports car is breaking the bank by ticking the DCT option. It's not at all a matter of affordability, strictly a matter of preference (and/or lack of ability to drive stick). There is no irony to DCT being faster on the track, nobody even argues this point. If I was buying the car for heavy track use, I would have probably opted for the DCT myself. Some people just find the 6MT more fun and rewarding, especially for a daily driver. I think 6MT cars will also hold their value better as time goes on and enthusiasts seek them out specifically. Nobody who is happy with their choice "envies" the other, they both have their place.

it's the same broad statement as 'can't drive a stick'.

Hence why that broad statement was a side note and surrounded by the idea of preference rather than ability or price being the deciding factor.

On that note though, I believe there are far more DCT owners who chose it because they can't drive stick than there are 6MT owners who chose it because they couldn't afford DCT.

Not really..drive what you enjoy driving whether DCT or 6MT. I don't give a shit about anyone's opinion of what I drive. I bought this car in this transmission because I like it so if you see threads talking about this just ignore them.
