I moved to the US just so I could afford a high-end Bimmer or Porsche What w/ nose-bleed prices for 911s etc Downunder and not to mention Sydney / Perth / Auckland home prices ( ) ... sums could never be made to work.

Lots of M3 buyers considering S5...
I wonder if the S5 is affecting BMW's decision on NA pricing (maybe alittle)... If M3 comes in too high, I believe a lot of buyers will go to Audi and the S5.
I know I will... |

The CTS-V is going to be a real sleeper. No one seems to understand what a beast this car is going to be. Reports indicate they have revised the rear suspension and have cured the infamous axle hop.

Over 500hp V8 and it will be competing against the M5 instead of the M3, which i'm kinda confused about because of the size and tremendous price difference.

And that's why I'm considering the M3: love the marque and the amazing donk in this car - I hope BMW USA price it appropriately.

So I've found the M3post section of this forum completely boring over the last few days and returned to the tunner section of E90post.
There are some truly amazing things going on with tunes and piggybacks for the 335 that are producing large gains for relatively small investments. I think if BMW over-prices the M3 in the US by even 5 grand, they will see a large number of defectors from the "ultimate" 3 series to the 335. The TT-3 is already a car that can give the M3 a run for its money, and with an easy to accomplish tune will likely walk the M3 in all situations. How embarassing would it be to get stomped on repeatedly or not be able to pass a regular old looking 335 in your brand new, 70,000 M3??? Just so you know, a simple 2K reflash of the 335 ECU that comes with FULL warranty (Dinan) puts down 332 rwhp and 360 rwtq - talk about WALKING on an M3.

BTW, BMW corporate has been unusually "hostile" in attitude towards the Dinan flash. This is coming from multiple sources. I don't know what this means yet about Dinan and BMW. It is interesting that other "semi-official" BMW tuners, such as Hartge, only flashed to 360ish crank...I wonder if BMW put the word out to limit the HP to that range and Dinan said no thanks? |

As for a modded 335; we all know what a one-legger is capable of on meth....
s5: IMO, is a different car for a different driver. GT-R: can't seem to embrace the styling... If the m3 didn't exist I would have to force myself to start looking at Pcar$...

1. C63
2. GT-R 3. M3 4.IS-F Assuming the same price. I believe that equally equipped, they will all be within $5k of each other by MSRP. It's hard to factor in how much stealer mark ups will be. This is from a married guy with kids. But due to my special circumstances (military, location, discounts) 1. M3 sedan 2. GT-R 3. C63 4. IS-F |

I just picked up a Z4 M coupe with the great deals going on right now. Surprized no one has mentioned it yet. BTW i pulled about a car length on a Aston Martin V8 Vantage from 55-95 the other day! BMW for the win!
