based on that video the dme is getting power for sure, ekp is on and the actuators are moving to start. I would make sure the engine is turning, the oil temps werent very high to indicate a main bearing failure but something tells me that motor is locked. did you feel a reduction in power at any point while lapping?

yeah i think the solenoid is dead.
get it tested.. if it only getting 12V it's probably donezo. but typically that would be a CAS fuse Terminal50 ? that would indicate a bad starter. could also be the ground strap for the fuse box in the glove box :3

why would the car shut off? you can hear in the video the dme relay is clicking, actuators turn on, fuel pump is on etc. op needs to turn the engine by hand.

I don't know why car shut off but I would I assume this is different issue. The symptoms he is observing now is a problem I've also experienced before. Starter is not engaging. I don't hear solenoid getting clicked in the video he posted. This is same symptom I had before.

Something I noticed - there are no lights on my gear shifter when I turn on the car…I did have that code of gear selector no voltage or something when I scanned.
Might explore that more tonight. Cars going to the shop tomorrow. |

Quick update:
The issue:
What could possibly be causing the DCT to completely disappear? I don’t want to jump and assume Mechatronics just yet - looking for other electrical errors that could possibly be causing this. One note - I did disconnect my gauge cluster to move it and hide it up behind the dash but it was reconnected BEFORE the car had this issue. After I moved the cluster the car ran fine for 5 sessions on track before the issue. I moved this cluster with the Cartek kill switch in the car completely of. The car also has an OTB Epic tune on the engine and trans. Could the trans tune have been weird? Again, was running fine with the trans tune up until this point? Could this be a CAS issue? DME? |

Bumping for any help or thoughts.
Plan is to likely drop the trans if there aren’t any other thoughts. |

It seems the whole trans computer just died as I can’t talk to it through the diag computer and the engine ecu can’t communicate to it either - and the engine ECU has a direct connection to it with nothing in between. If that link was down I wouldn’t be able to talk to the engine computer. So it really seems to be internal to the trans.
any thoughts here team? |

i bet if you did remove it and inspected your mechatronics it might have oil inside it. meaning the mechatronic seal failed.

BMW Mechatronic Sleeve The BMW mechatronic sleeve is located on the passenger’s side of the transmission near the automatic transmission. This is where the Transmis- sion Control Unit (TCU) wire harness connects the transmission. Unplug the wire harness and inspect for oil contamination. If there is oil, the communication between the transmission control unit and the mecha- tronic valve body is interrupted. You must get your BMW up on ramps to replace or check for leaks. Remove the splash shield from under the trans- mission and unplug the wire harness. |
