Rogue Engineering Resonated Test Pipes

Wondering if anyone has the Rogue Engineering Resonated TP's installed on their car and how they like them?

I'm most curious how much of a difference in overall volume and rasp the resonated TP's have as opposed to the regular TP's if anyone has experience with both.

I haven't seen any threads on the subject, nor found anyone running these, and was hoping for more info.

My overall goal is to eliminate the primary cats for a bump in power, while keeping the overall sound and volume of my car with it's current exhaust setup close or slightly louder. I think the non-resonated TP's might just be a tad too loud for the sound i'm after.

Thanks in advance!

I've been looking into this option as well and would to know as well. With the regular TP's and ACM exhaust mod it's a bit too loud and a little raspy for me - hoping resonated TP's is the right solution (or even back to an unmodified OEM muffler).

In my experience, nothing sounds good with the ACM mod muffler except the stock xpipe. Even high quality HFC x-pipes just make it loud and raspy.

ah, that sucks. i may gamble with the bimmerworld resonated x-pipe and OEM muffler and hope that it sounds ok.

I have the Rogue resonated test pipes and ran them both with stock exhaust and currently with Dinan.

With the stock exhaust I would say from 0-3K RPM the car sounded essentially stock and at higher RPMs was louder and tonally more pleasing (to me). I think its present in all M3s but there is a warble between 3-4K rpms which is more accentuated with the test pipes. I never had rasp in the negative sense and no drone. If you are looking for a slight increase in volume without any loss of stock-like civility, this is probably the way to go.

With the Dinan it was noticeably louder (as most aftermarket cans are) but much more refined than the RPI / stock x-pipe setup that the car originally came with. Dinans drone just a tiny bit around 3K rpm with the test pipes. I compared the sound with another forum member who runs a full Dinan X - Pipe and Dinan exhaust setup and his exhaust is noticeably more "raspy" but I find in a good way (like the resonance from a horn instrument).

I have a feeling this resonated test pipe paired with an MPE could be the perfect combo.

I appreciate the insight. I have the Corsa Exhaust which I am looking to pair the TP's up with, but I really like the tone it has now and I don't want it to be obnoxious as I feel like unresonated TP's might be

I'll be running them with the Corsa Muffler which I think might be even better than MPE!

I am in agreement. Resonated X Pipe with Corsa is top 3 in my mental hall-of-fame exhaust setups. Congrats!

MPE + Test Pipe is up there too but I think you have to like the higher pitch of the MPE.

I think it would be too quiet. I have non-resonated RE TPs with my MPE and I think it's perfection. Sometimes I may want it to be a smudge louder, but never have I wished for it to be more resonated or quieter...

I was hoping it would reduce the rasp and not so much the volume. It might be a sweet spot for those of us who want to increase the volume beyond stock by a noticeable amount.

I have resonated test pipes with 2 pipe OEM exhaust mod. To me it sounds more exotic now I love it. Especially during downshift blips. Does not sound obnoxious. Def louder though but sound nice. Quiet during cruising.

My uncle has just 2 pipe OEM on his m3. He just ordered the resonated test pipes also after hearing them side by side .lol.

I run resonated test pipes with secondary cats and resonators. I have a catback as well. I have had non resonated pipes as well. Basically, I switched from non to resonated and found it to be very close to the volume with the cats. Maybe a just a little louder at low rpm than with cats. It made my tone deeper and help the drone of the catback at low rpm. Overall, I like them better than non resonated.

i was closing to pulling the trigger on the resonated test pipes but i opted for the bimmerworld x-pipe with resonators and HFC welded in (previous owner had it done). it was a gamble but surprisingly it is quieter than my prior test pipe + OEM x-pipe setup and smoother in tone, higher pitched, with a huge reduction in rasp. i'm loving the sound now and glad i made the change.

LOL. The test pipe sertup is still very good. Just a bit too crazy for me with the ACM muffler (I'm an old man now). It sounds great with a real muffler since the ACM basically bypasses the mufflers.

Has anyone had experience with resonated test pipes paired to the ACM mod? Phil's post above gives me hope that it would be reasonable, unlike regular test pipes+ACM.

Just did this exact install on a friends M3. It is still pretty damn loud but its tolerable. Not the best sounding e92 I have heard and close to the worst lol
