Rebuilt E9X M3 Driveshafts
I found a source that can rebuild E9X M3 driveshafts - DCT or 6MT. Price is $525 shipped to you. Return shipping of the core is included as well. Includes a 1 year warranty. Wear parts are replaced and the driveshaft is dynamically balanced. I've had 20+ driveshafts rebuilt for E46 M3s and have only had 1 issue so far...of course it was MY OWN DAMNED DRIVESHAFT!!! Depending on what's in stock, there are 3 options: 1. I ship a rebuilt driveshaft to you, you send your core back. $150 core charge. No downtime for you. or 2. You ship your driveshaft to my rebuilder, 2 day turnaround, and then ship back to you. No core charge. About 2 weeks of downtime. or 3. I can find a core, ship it and have it rebuilt. Core charge is $400. I can then buy your core back for $200. PM me to discuss the best option for you.

Is this just a good item to fix preventatively after 100K miles? I have some 'normal' cowbell stuff, but nothing that I notice that is impacting performance... but this price is good. Any idea how much an Indy would charge for this replacement?

I wouldn't necessarily do a preventative replacement but I'll be happy to take your money! Lol

I have a clunk when going in reverse and first letting out the clutch.. then again when I go into 1st. Took it to a reputable shop here in Indianapolis.. they're best guess, I say that because I really don't think they know for sure, but they're opinion is the driveshaft. Car only has 62k on it. They want over $1800 to put in a "new" rebuilt one. Sounds crazy!!!

If you're paying a shop to do the job I'd recommend getting a rebuilt shaft. If the rest of the DS is no good then you're paying for labor twice.

Not too hard. You need to separate the shaft sections.
