That drive to Wilmington can have long stretches with no traffic. It would be nice to be able open it up a little with a little security.

I'm a few mods away from a photo shoot. Just saw your announcement or I would have met you out there.

Like 8am-11am in the parking lot by Chilis in front of Barnes and Nobles and all that. You will see all the exotics. I usually try to park by other M cars, gotta get there early to do that though. I'll be there around 8.

I'd love to go out to C&C, but it's my wedding anniversary this weekend and I'm outta town.
For those that have gotten their cars tinted, where did you end up and were you satisfied? What tint and what % did you guys go with? |

m3keash, i thought about doing a mirror install, but it just didn't seem worth it to me. Ultimately, I just hardwired mine to the fusebox and routed the wiring behind the a-pillar. My unit sits just to the left of my rearview mirror so it can pick up the signals behind me and in front. looks fairly clean... but other people can leech off my detector...

Granted mine has been tinted for two weeks, but so far, so good. I got carbon tinting at Tint World in Cary. I went with the max, i think 35%. It has a lifetime warranty so I figure if there's a problem I'll be on their doorstep.

anyone of you guys also get a clearbra? after taking the m3 to charlotte, dc, the beach, the mountains.... i'm starting to wonder if it's worth it... and if any of you guys have pics of your cars with your tint, i'd appreciate it...
m3keash, i just realized that you have an e93.... i think those have been the hardest for people to figure out hardwire solutions for the v1. i think the mirror install is the best bet, but i forget where people placed the receivers... another option is the escort hardwire where they place the receivers in the front and rear bumpers. personally, i like to have them higher up for better detection. |

The dot matrix portion shows on mine around the edges only. Doesn't look bad. I saw some pictures on the general board that look horrible. You'll have to check mine out at the C&C.

So called to get some quotes on tinting.... $350? Seems a little steep to me. I was thinking something more around the 200 range. I'll shop around some more, but with us almost half-way through Summer, it's not as imperative to me to get this done. Or maybe I'm just used to roasting in my car for a couple minutes after it's sat outside in the sun.
As far as people going to VIR, etc., (i.e. Martin_D and Doc), is there any where local to buy helmets? I'd rather try them on in person before purchasing. Thanks! |

I'm new to the area, just stationed at Fort Bragg (a little further south than most of you), but I live outside of Fayetteville a bit closer to Raeford.
Anyone out there know some good detailers in the area? Willing to travel a bit for a good job, but don't wanna travel too far obviously. Or do you all just do it yourselves? I am planning on investing in a nice detailing kit and getting it on by myself, but my car needs some loving ASAP and I don't have the equipment/know how to do it right now. Thanks!
