Here in the US we put a lot of value in time and production and efficiency, etc. and the punctuality phenomenon is a byproduct of that. It is my understanding that being "late" is normal and, in fact, can be a bit of a surprise being that their cultures are typically more laid back and private. It makes it seem like you are desperate to see the person and this can be taken as slightly offensive.

So, while I do value punctuality myself, it is important if someone is late to maybe consider their culture before reacting harshly.
In Hawaii we have a thing called Hawaiian Time, which means you show up when you show up. Its a laid back society thing for sure and mostly a joke. It doesn't fly in a business situation.

Hate that. My former company opened a Warranty department there, and majority of employees calls in on Friday. What kinda bull crap is that?
We worked on a warranty on 4 working days per week.

Hawaii is one of the place in US which I would never do business at.

When you spend two weeks training a new employee only to learn that she’s not cut for the position. Now I get to start the process all over again!

When people say " I could care less." what they mean is "I couldn't care less".

When you walk into the office and all you hear is- mornin, mornin, mornin, mornin. Not one person took the time to throw in the “Good” in Good Morning.

But what if they haven't reached that point of not being able to care less though? Next time someone says that to you, ask them at which point they couldn't care less.

Saying "have a good morning" is awfully demanding, don't you think?
"Morning" says "have the morning you chose to have"

Do "g'night" and "thanks" also bother you?

Nah, I think its just the "mornin" thing. Say it like you mean it. Most of the time there isn't even any eye contact. Kinda like mornin - now get out of the way.

Let's be honest... who is really happy to be getting to the office?

I suppose I would be fine with hitting the lottery and being a bum the rest of my life, but since I have to work, I can't say I'm not happy about going there. I actually enjoy my job most days. It's always different and interesting and is low stress. It took me 40 freaking years of working to get to this point, but now that I'm here, I'm enjoying it.

I'm not saying I'm unhappy coming in to work, but I am definitely happier on Saturday morning than Monday morning.

How about people who eat crap and then complain "Oh I shouldn't have done that!"
I can't stand miserable eaters and I hear this all the time at my office
