crankshaft position sensor

Hi forum,

I have a question about crankshaft position sensor. My M3 stalled on my way home. Luckily, it was going slowly.

I scanned the code and it shows "27a9 dme crankshaft sensor". I googled it and saw there are two crankshaft sensor on the car, one lower and one higher on the bell housing. Does anyone know which one i should replace?

Thanks in advance!

There is only one crankshaft position sensor used by the DME, located in the bottom of the bellhousing by the bank 1 exhaust. The DCT has another rpm sensor at the top of the bellhousing inside the transmission case- not related to this fault.
