Latest oil report with a history of others. All are Motul 300v 15w50, all 5k, most have a track day or two within the period, otherwise all daily driving.

The car is at 141k now and I did a whole fluid service and waterpump change.

Those of you running underdrive pulleys - make note of the belts used! They are not factory length for obvious reasons (as I learned, since the car came with a Dinan underdrive puley, and I didnt notice)... that was fun to hunt down as my belts were worn as well.

Im trying out Motul 300v 20W60 now
Ive got Motul Multi DCTF in the transmission now and Moltul Gear Oil.

also made an IG for the car build - SSE90M3 - follow along there.. nothing crazy but itll be all bmw related.

Made a video of a fluid change... just for fun as photo/video is a passion of mine.

Ran out of patience with doing everything once i got finished with draining fluids, removing/cleaning the DCT filters and pan.. and that waterpump.

any pro tips for changing the water pump? did you do a full coolant flush and fill as well?

nothing pro here hah..

some thoughts:
I didnt want to drain everything as coolant is fairly fresh, in hindsight shouldve just yanked the right hoses to get the fan shroud out for more room.

If you can do that - do that. Only thing is some of those hoses are really hard to remove with the way BMW has those plastic fittings. I was worried about breaking them.

If you get the fan shroud out, loosening the tensioner on the forward belt is easier, and then getting the other belt managed is easier as well.

Only annoying thing is that the water pump pulley is so tight against an oil line that you cant get the belt by. Before you do anything, loosen the water pump pulley bolts, while everything is under tension. Then you can get the belt out, then you get the pulley out (still had to disconnect a small coolant line) and then get to the water pump.

Do the thermostat too while you are at.. i didnt do it on mine, but you are so far along, that it makes sense.

Just get that fan out.. saves a lot of cursing.

this helps immensely, thank you!

when you did the CSF upgrades, did you also open the block drain coolant passages in the back of the block or just whatever drained out from the front end?

Whatever drained out. It drained out very clean, so either a flush was done recently or its just stayed clean when I did the CSF stfff. This last time the fluid was like new as well so I didnt think a full flush was needed.

Can DCT handle 9K rpm? I thought that's why MRFs 4.2 was limited to 8800 for DCT cars.

That could be the case, though the GS7D36SG documentation states 9k as max RPM. I would be ok at 8800-8900 RPMs. There might be greater limitation within the flow of head and power output at those RPMs.

These are interesting. Full disclosure: I did work on development of them a while back.

They have been validated and I guess now being brought to market. This is something I will be picking up - need to service the driveshaft first probably and a few other things as they arent cheap.

Long story short is they correct roll center for lowered vehicles (on coilovers or the like for track duty and such). They eliminate bump steer and have perfect ackerman.

Just sharing the options out there as something that will be part of this build at some point. Id like to do a whole car study, reverse engineering the whole suspension instead of just the front end.

Not BMW related but fun stuff with the day job.

Running a car at Pikes Peak this year, a 2RS Clubsport. Qualified first today overall! Got another 2RS close behind but hopefully we keep them at bay come race day. (Im with BBi)

Small update

Finally installed the Bimmerworld trailing arm and camber arm bushings.

Swapped sprigs to Swift Spring 10kgf and 16kgf (from 9 and 14), re-aligned and rebalanced the car.

Quite a bit better feedback from the rear end along with stability. Now working on resetting the MCS shock settings to accommodate the spring rate changes.

The install was surprisingly easy as the old stuff comes out fairly smoothly as long as you can apply the pressure to the right parts of the bushing. Installing the new stuff was easy as well as everything was made to the right tolerances.

Cleaned injectors from the engine thats in pieces right now to swap into the running car. Results were off-putting. Not sure if its because they were sitting for a while or something else. Will send out the other inejctors out too to see if a running car had better numbers.

150k Miles, Fresh Motul 20w60 300v, fresh injectors, fresh plugs and primary O2. Replaced that breather valve too finally.

I have that lightweight TTV DCT flywheel on order - will go towards the new engine build up.

Good stuff as always.

How did you like the Bimmerworld solid subframe mounts? Quality piece, good design/fitment, would do again? So many options here and they all look a little different but I can't tell pros/cons from any of the differences. BW is at least anodized.

Great parts, great tolerances for a secure install and proper fit.

Install is never easy on these, regardless of part (unless maybe poly inserts or something) but Once its done, its done.

Not really. Definitely change in feedback from the rear but no noticeable NVH, though it would have to overpower the solid mounted diff. (aluminum mounts)

No clunks, no extra noise or the like.
