Yep, it's not *bad* on track, I've noticed it more in street driving/autocross with a lot of steering angle on my STR40 sport front kit, but it's there. On the track the car and/or the conditions mask it pretty decently for me

So yeah, just stick knockback springs in the pistons while it's nice and new and clean

Placed my order for Stoptech Trophy:
Race version w/no dust boots and no ebrake
4-piston front+rear, anodized finish (not nickel)
Slotted rotors
Anti knockback springs

Excited to see how brake bias changes and easier pad swaps. Given the shortages going on, they said to call back 8/1 to check status lol

I want to switch from PMU 999 to CSG C2 pads. Anybody have a link or how to order those CSG pads for ST40R? np if not, I'll just contact them

@Richbot mine are good. A full day at thermal and a full day at Laguna with plenty of tread remaining. Without one has a small flat spot from a big slide/spin so that's annoying. I found them easy to dial in pressures (26 cold worked for me) but still haven't tried too many options. Better than the Firehawk Indy500 I tried before. I only do 2 track days a year so I'm mostly looking for a tire that performs well on street and can handle a little track abuse. I still consider my S3's quiet on road.

Installed CAE and a janky carbon cover I made. Will hold me over until I can make something more permanent.

Honestly, I wish the same. Especially when I compare my speed trace with a DCT. I'm in too deep with this one. I'd rather go sequential than start all over.

Is it hard to align the carbon weave when you're cutting these covers?

Haha. Sadly working with scraps so I need to align it based on the orientation that fits. I knew it would bother someone.

Haha. It's your car not mine.

I know that a lot of people probably haven't used both, but to anyone that has is there a noticeable felt difference between CAE and something like an RTD (or the PS designs copy)?

I love the looks and feel of the CAE, but I've only inserted the wrong gear twice in my life, each time in a different car, and each of those cars had a CAE shifter.

I think they feel the same, or the RTD is 98% of a CAE. So for less then half the price the RTD was a no brainer to me. Plus I had a good experience with RTD so I'd be happy to support them in the future again with my business.

Unpopular opinion: There is absolutely nothing wrong with the stock shifter on the 6MT, including the knob - different mechanical things all feel different, stop trying to make everything a dang S2000

*flame suit on* as they used to say, heh

They do look fun to use though

Yea it's very hard to miss a shift with the stock shifter if the bushings are good. However, the chassis mounted RTD adds enjoyment to the driving experience which was worth it to me.

Brake bias shouldn't change since Stoptech engineers their system to match the stock specs; that way, you can run only a front kit and not change the bias. The piston sizes on the 4 pot are bigger than the 3 pot so the total surface area is the same.

Any guys running JPmarketing rear bar? How was your fitment? Opting for option to carry spare set of wheels. Which seems to be impossible with the other Pinnacle bar..am I right? Has anyone with the pinnacle tried to fit wheels?

Wheels won't fit with Pinnacle. If that's a priority definitely get the JP bar with the extra clearance.

I could range cattle between the gears in a stock 6MT shifter.

Yup. I was thinking better brake bias than my rotora F&R BBK.

If you had never driven any other car with a manual transmission, you might be excused for saying the oem E9x shifter is acceptable.

But that’s not the case. It’s crap. Vague, mushy, long throw, long clutch take up, marshmallow crap.

I bring 3. Get new caps without the hose for transport. Just bring a single hose cap to swap as needed. Use plumber's tape to ensure the seals are tight!

I fill up everything approximately 15 mins from the track. No sense driving for an hour plus with gas.

Here's a pro in action, this lady tracks!
