just got a e93 coming from an e46 to e85 . Sold the e46, had it to about 100k, SMG wasnt just for me. e85 was the most fun with the MT but the 2 seater thing just wont cut it. Then I could not pass on the e93 with the DCT . the V8 naturally aspirated engine sound is just what did it for me. Rod bearings, actuator etc.. I told myself to just enjoy the ride and deal with these thing as they happen. do maintenance and forums like these help you a lot to understand the car and its issues. otherwise there's always the next generation M

The prices on the F8X look pretty good right now and I assume they’ll look even better when the G8X show up. I am aware that the F8X are numb and soulless so Id know what to expect but my car is about to be 9 years old and there’s never a perfect solution

I was recently considering a f80 individual in frozen red, '16 about 30k miles. Had a fender bender on the one owner Carfax for about $43k. I would keep the e92 and use the f80 as more of a daily and even thought about putting the f80 on Turo. Doesn't seem to be much of a market for Turo in the Sacramento area though.. yet

I'm on the verge of selling mine because it doesn't get driven enough since I bought my 2019 Civic Type R a few months ago which is more fun to drive and better in the corners than my E92. It made me realize just how dated the E9x is. I sold my E46 M3 a month before I got my CTR and honestly other than the V8 I don't think there was ever a compelling argument to buy an E92 instead of an E46 - the selling point of the entire car is that S65 engine. The E46 also felt way better and I had/have both of my M3s on good suspension setups.
I'm supercharged too so it's a lot of capital to have tied up in something that isn't driven much and doesn't serve any real value other than it sounds incredible at WOT (which does count for a lot but I just don't know if it's enough anymore) I guess if I didn't know any better and I daily drove my E92, maybe I'd be much happier and inclined to keep it. Selling is still a hard proposition for a lot of people I think because the price point on these cars is cheap now, and anything that *most* people would want to replace an E9x with are going to cost a lot more money that most people won't want to pay
