BIMMERPOST / Classifieds

Hey Everyone

I have been an M enthusiast and member here for many years and have been fortunate to own many generations of the M3 and have to say this car is truly one of my favorites.

I purchased the car from EAG at the beginning of the year and have already got a compelling offer from them to buy the car back but wanted to post here to my fellow enthusiasts.

The car currently sits at 54K miles and will stay their as this is not my daily driver. I have every single service record from new, no paintwork no story car. Every mechanical maintenance item has been done and this car is truly turn key.

The price posted will include the car with all parts mentioned below installed with all stock components included.

We can discuss if you want the car back to stock at a discounted price.

A slicktop e90 Comp is a 1 of 180 car. Add in the Manual trans, red interior, and other options probably a 1 of 1 spec with low mileage to boot and tasteful mods. Worth every bit of the price. GLWS

I know you know your sh!t Kels, but that other VERY nice black E90 on here has a third of the miles and it's $7k less (and been for sale awhile). Does AW/FR, 6MT, and the "relatively" subtle mods really justify the price?! This is a beauty, but might be a tad too much. GLWS to OP either way!

AW/FR is desired combo. So worth it to the right buyer I think. I agree the other car is a much better value, but I think the DCT vs 6MT collector argument may be at play here. Most e90's were optioned with sunroofs and DCT's so any manual slicktop is hard to find, add in a comp package and its a rare bird.

I should add User SickFinga has a database of build sheets and could give the exact figures (if he's still active on here) on manual/dct slicktop e90 ZCP numbers but I do believe the take rate on the DCT was higher.

I'll always be glad I got AW/FR so I can agree AW is still the most produced color, and I believe that black one is an individual black with piano black trim (even more insane). 6MT would have to be the main difference between these since they're both slicktops. It's odd to me this one was optioned with that trim and without enhanced sound. I'll be watching this to see how it goes!

Market will dictate. E9Xs at this price range literally sit unless they are a true unicorn. this is like a 2030 price. If OP gets it that would be amazing... for this kind of money I'd try to find a LRE. That's just me.

This E90 is a gorgeous car though. GLwS

OP overpaid by buying from EAG and now trying to recoup some of the money. Realistically this car is worth mid 30s with mods. People can try to justify...its 1 out of 180 but most of the people don’t care about that..when typical buyers are only interested in Year, mileage, service history and price.I hope OP sells the car but don’t be surprised at the responses from public forum

I think his best bet is to put it on BringATrailer if he’s asking over the real market value, as people pay boookoo money there

Nice spec! Makes me wish I still had my 2011 slicktop, manual speed cloth, no nav, 6MT E90. Great cars!

Nailed it. Mileage trumps everything else.

Surprisingly, most E90s were optioned with 6MT (3135 out of 5867 E90s imported to the US); although 6MT in cars from 11' are a tad rarer...but at that point we're splitting hairs.

Agreed! People are paying drug money for some vehicles..It's mind boggling to just look at it.

Not really splitting hairs...for the E90 there's a strong distribution shift for pre/post LCI so the 6MT cars are much rarer in the LCI years. I think the main reason was all the E90 launch cars BMW built solely with 6MT (and due to a very late introduction of the DCT in the E90, only 200 DCT exist for 2008). While there were 2080 6MT 2008 models, only 1055 E90 6MT are spread across 2009-2011 model years.

6MT/DCT data:
pre LCI 2080/200
post LCI 1055/2532

Hence if one is shopping for an LCI 6MT E90 M3, your odds of any given car being a DCT are 2.4 times greater than it being a 6MT. Conversely, if you're looking at 2008 model year E90s, it's better than 10:1 going to be a 6MT.

People can thread crap, either the price is insane and it’ll be listed forever, or somebody who hits their quarterly bonus is going to have money to burn and like this spec enough to make an offer.

Guys act like cars sell for asking price anyways. EAG has proven these cars can move in the mid $40s with enough time.
