They only sell the prefabbed acm mod. They won't do 2 pip mods. Called them. Any other shops?

There's two ways we have done the ACM exhaust since we created it almost 10 years ago. There's our normal method on the outside of the canister, and then there is the "perforated" variant which was cutting and modifying the long middle section of the canister (looking at it from the top). Naturally, we experimented with both to compare sounds. That center work was twice as long with literally hardly any noticeable difference in sound. To charge people for twice the work for an outcome that wasn't to our standard in sound, we decided to no longer do it. We've also only done maybe a handful of the perforated version compared to hundreds and hundreds of standard ACM mods.

I had a local Midas or mieneke do it years ago. If you're going to do it, do all 4 perforated pipes. Should cost approx $300-$350.

I've searched quite a bit just curious why you personally recommend 4 over 2. My results have been that 4 produces more drone and of course louder than 2 pipe. Thanks

No drone at all. Not sure where you read/heard that. 4 pipe gives you the sound you want from the 2 pipe with more volume.

OEM Mod (4 pipe) and rogue engineering catless test pipes are a great sounding setup. I ran this setup for almost 2 years. Loved the sound.

IMO, if I could do it all over again, I would start with a full x pipe, specifically the bimmerworld catless x pipe which is what I have now. I got an insane deal on it over the holidays and really makes the S65 sound exotic. Paired with a Corsa motor is pure bliss.

some guys measured it (find more in this thread : https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=739512 )

Stock Exhaust:
Cold start:90db
Idle:73-75db

Oem exhaust mod (non perforated) =
90-92 db cold start
78-80 db warm idle

obviously one would hope they have also measured it when it's on throttle...
but i'd say 4pipe about 20-30% louder would be the right ballpark.
also, qualitatively, no one ever commented on the noise before i did the mod but after mod it gets complimented all the time...

you can also find a lot more comments / opinion on acm v.s. perforated pipe mode in this thread: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=980085

Wally I'm in South Jersey and offer to meet up one day so you can hear in person. I have (I believe) the 2 Pipe perforated by ACM mod. I say believe because I bought the car and the center of the muffler (looking down from top) is welded, so this is not the ACM bypass else the two outer sides of muffler would be welded.
The car was from NY area so my guess is that Autocoture did the job. I have AktiveWorks test pipes and IMO the combination sounds amazing! Quiet when needed but when you drive spiritedly it roars - not ricey or tinny, but deep and exotic. Again, to me its 100% perfect.

Appreciate the offer not sure when I can make it down south. I called a few meineke shops, they didn't really understand what I was asking for. I did stumble across sound clips of the Corsa Atak axle back exhaust and that sounded amazing but still too loud for what Im looking for.

I went down to my local muffler shop in person and showed them what I wanted to do. It's tough to explain over the phone. Took him about 2 hours If I remember correctly. Not an easy job.
