Engine oil analysis
Quote:
I've called WesTrac and their test kit is around the $30 mark, (I was talking to the lab technician and she didn't have the exact price) Oil sample return postage is included in the kit purchase price so the sample bottle can be returned to the WesTrac lab via any Australia Post mail box from anywhere in Australia. The oil sample analysis takes 24-48 hours and then the result is e mailed to you. The result sheet comes with the lab technicians name and direct phone number so you can discuss your results if needed. Sample kits can be purchased from WesTrac Parts located at the very end of Hyde road in South Guildford. I will be buying some kits next week and I'm happy to buy for anyone else who is interested and I will sell you a kit at our next coffee or drive meet. I was planning to send a sample to Blackstone purely because they have done many s54, S65 etc engines so can comment on averages etc. they make their reply bit personalized as opposed to what I've seen done in Perth where it's just listing the results.
I'm sure both ways are accurate anyways |

yes its Shogun.
here is what Thomas said on his FB "So today as most people may know my m3 was in a unfortunate event, to clear things up. Everyone is ok and safe, the car is replaceable as for what happened we currently have no idea besides that it may be an electrical fault but no fault of the driver. I am currently on my holiday in vietnam My friend was moving the car back to their house for me while i was away and the unfortunate event took place. It could have happened to anyone driving the car, the car is replaceable and i am glad no one was hurt and i thank everyone for their support so far" |

Nope, only thing I've heard of is the battery strap recall. I find it hard to believe what they are saying is even possible. Burnt out wires, pump will short and not run. Pump running flat out would mean it's cooler, because fuel cools fuel pumps down and the only way a fuel line, IMO if the wires are that hot, there is a dead short and the pump just wont pump.

Yeah didn't sound right to me either. It's all speculation at this point.
Hope it works out well for Thomas with insurance and glad no one was hurt. |

The Northam motoring festival is on the 1st and 2nd of April.
The Hill climb is on the Saturday which could be interesting to watch from 10am. Is anyone keen to make a drive of it maybe going via Toodyay or York..?!? |

Hi all,
I'm checkin in to see if anyone in Perth is interested in the mode carbon V1 GTS front lip. (Endurance FRP or carbon fibre) I have registered my interest but would like to share shipping cost (from US) with one more person who is in the market for a genuine V1 front lip. Vivid Racing (US) is facilitating the group buy and have sent me prices along with shipping cost. It is approx $100 USD off the retail price. (Check out the mode carbon website) vivid racing have confirmed they can fit two V1s in one box. A deposit is required initially for the Order then remainder of payment is completed when we are notified when ready to ship. (Approx 4-6weeks) The V1 GTS I have always liked, has great design lines, not excessively low and is known to have the best fitment. (Excuse the sales pitch but most forum members with the V1 would agree) If you are interested, PM me and I can send over some more details. Cheers!! |
