I am poor. That is why I bought a used M3 and do all the work on it myself. Have to borrow money to make money when you don’t already have the money. Hopefully one day the businesses will pay off the debt and I can afford to pay cash for cars and send them to dealers to work on like others here.

I raced a C6 Z06. He wanted a pull. Mature adult. Can’t just pick the ones you know you will win. The result was as expected when a 115 mph car runs a 125 mph car.

I have seen some mods go down in price from different vendors so I assume in maybe 2-3 years most cosmetic mods will shoot down in price.

Back on topic, yes I am approached to race whenever I'm on the highway lol. Some kid once wanted to race me badly in a straight line and as soon as I told him we can race on a track he ran away. I remember him telling his friend "I can't race him on a track, my car is slow around corners."
Surprised to hear this in VA given the strict speeding laws lol. Pretty sure I follow you on IG btw

If I see another cool car, I try to speed up a little to try to catch up to them, so I can get a better look. I'm not trying to race but I can see how someone might think that in my case.

Disagree!!! First month of owning the M3, the first person that tried to race me on the straight line was a Porsche owner (Cayenne). It was late night on the back road and then all of a sudden a Cayenne coming up behind me then next to me on the red light. I was like wtf!! So I press the "M" button LOLed just blow that sucker out of the road. In the beginning he was able to stay with me but once i hit 70ish i was goner.
Porsche was trying to keep up but i was too fast LOL.

On the serious note, I bought the M3 because of the sounds of the V8 (stock), the nicely build body (look at that front hump, there's no other car like it not even 335i or M wanna be), and the drive up and down on I-92 to Highway 1 (half moon bay).
The road up to Half moon bay is so curvy and have some straight line up the mountain that It's so much fun to drive the M3 (doing over 100mph). Low revving on 3/4 gear down the mountain and have "alpha romero" behind you just drooling over the sound of my V8 and the ass of that nice M3.

Cheers!!
Not sure a cayenne is a Porsche, isn't it a truck ??

Sorry, but SUV's, no matter the make, don't count.

A Porsche SUV driver is someone who wish they had a sports coupe/vert/targa but had to get the SUV b/c he's got family obligations.

It's priceless to see their reaction. They usually just take off all upset.

Is she in her car seat strapped down in the back of your saloon?

Maybe a little, but that's selling the Cayenne and Macan short. They are genuinely good to drive.

Live in denial and roll the dice or bite the bullet and replace them. It's up to you...

I almost didn't either. Ultimately I decided the $2500 RB job was part of the cost-of-entry to drive what I feel is a special automobile.

At 79k miles, there's plenty of time to spin a bearing. Quite honestly, I'm struggling to enjoy the car knowing I could be out $15k any second. It's worth the $2500 for piece of mind.

I'm at 80k, car goes into the shop Wednesday for RBs.

Exactly the way I looked at it. I got mine booked in as soon as I could after purchase.

Figure it will look good to future owners when I go to sell it too.

4-cylinder Mustang isn't the joke that many make it out to be--20% more torque than an S65 V8.

In a discussion about stoplight racing, a Cayenne Turbo will hang just fine, if not better than an E9x M3.

How do you know they don't have both? A CTT will replace my wife's X3 next year.

Yep, it's funny to hear the trash talk about Porsche SUVs, like BMW doesn't have a full lineup of them--some with M badges.

Read this comment so many times but never understood it. Never ever had an issue with torque or speed pick up at red lights/down town, must be our local minivans being slow. Coming up in proper speed on the high way different story, could use more grunt.
I selfishly reflected on my own experiences instead of answering OP's questions. Where I live it seems all modern day turbo'd cars with variable transmissions seem to whiz around and get off at traffic lights pretty well, I feel like when I'm in my 6mt m3 I'm having to kinda thrash it through 1st and 2nd to keep up with traffic. Which if a car has a modified exhaust can feel a bit intense. I was suggesting that people aren't really trying to race me I just feel like that because of the circumstances and the fact that m3's aren't that city friendly.

You can fix this with a supercharger

I am really not scared driving it hard. To me there is very very little chance to blow the engine like risk is less then %1 and I feel like I am not that unlucky. I just hit jackpot at the casino btw for $9368

Yo. Use like a quarter of that for RBs

That 1%... you're dealing with reports from a community where a lot of people have done RBs. We're not accounting for the RBs that would have spun if not changed nor are we accounting for the unreported RBs from people who don't really do the online thing.

I've never been super lucky, RB job it is

And I respect everyone who does replace the RB. Ones again you can't live with fear.. If you were not a forum member you wouldn't replace it. I have 2 friends with over 120K miles that drives an e9x M3's. When I asked them both if they ever replaced the Rod Bearing they both was like "Which Bear"? Their acting was amazing and let me tell you this they are driving the car really hard like maniacs, like there is no tomorrow
