There are so many appreciated comments and pics ITT. Thank you to all.

When BMW went turdbro for all models, I left the galaxy.

However, Einstein is correct. The Universe is finite; hence my return.

OTOH, the finiteness of human stupidity remains a subject of great concern and will continue to be relevant to many until BMW disabuses itself of the notion that turdbros are what M drivers want. Nevermind the argument about fuel efficiency. Ferrari has already addressed it by branding it, in so many words, a fallacious argument as it is a hasty generalization.

IMHO some paint colors are naturals with brighter, whiter angels eyes. Darker paint colors scream *aftermarket* or worse. Use your imagination.

To be upfront, lighting on my car is unmodified. I get many compliments. All are appreciated. Everyone should do as they please with their ride, whip or whatever. Afterall, the car is your car.

I have mulled over mods- to stroke or not; to go aftermarket on the exhaust, etc.., Eventually, a Kreissieg valvetronic will be added, but no engine mods until I take the car to Europe.

For now being in America, there is not much incentive to modify a 1 of 1 in N. America (source Sickfinga). While the car is a keeper, a move to Europe, autobahn territory, necessitates a 200+ mph vmax. Right?

... only because every car on the road has 5k to 6k white LEDs.

As seen in the front window reflection, I have 5k daylight bulbs in my garage door opener for comparison

Good point/observation on darker paint colors does not go well with white (updated) halos. imo the white halos look best on white paint color.

I have alpine white and one of the things I want to do asap is to upgrade to white halos but now I'm on the fence. I love the oem amber look but wish it switches to white when headlights turn on

Funny thread. No topic left unturned with this forum! I've been going back and forth on this as well. I had LUX bulbs on my Jet Black e92 335i and loved every bit of them. But for some reason I'm really leaning towards keeping the OEM look on the M.

Think of it as a timeless look on our M...it can rock white Angel eyes and still look good with gold Anglel eyes. lol

I'm keeping mine OEM because they match the fire orange paint. Got the LUX halogens for my 328 DD.

Funny I tried the same thing and I love the look but its hard to even take a picture to show a difference at night. But does look very JDM like.
Looks great on LRP.

Has anyone used Carly to increase the output of stock halogen angel eyes? Result? Photo?

I prefer the lux but only thing I don't like about the lux is that they don't match the slightly warmer oem headlight bulbs. I think the oem bulbs are 4300? Feels like they'd have to be around 5000 to match.

The above is apparent at least on my jet black.

I agree, I may give the new Lux Gold bulbs a try to be a happy Median!!! Still have my OEM bulbs, but dont want to go back to the old one in case it might have a short life span left. lol

A few of us have increased the halogen output to ~13.6v. Hard to capture in person, but I like it. Same halogen tone, just a little brighter and more uniform, less diffused within the rings. I'll try to snap pics later.

With the increase on output, will it cause any issues with car battery properly drawing charge and voltage being distributed without any issues? I have Carly but do not want to tamper with it since I have little knowledge on the electrical side. thanks

Here’s the brighter Osram halogen halos, Osram CBIs, and ZKW projector lenses.

Thanks, Wyatth. Subtly brighter it seems. When my Carly arrives, I'll make that and a few other other coding changes.

The yellow/orange halogen looks extremely dated, I'm always a bit shocked when I see them because other cars from the same period including e9X cars had LED come stock.

Agreed. Almost looks like they are burned out or something else is wrong.

I've seen people on here say that it's not period correct. Totally untrue as the base 3 series had them and just about EVERY other car on the road had bright LED DRLs at this point.

I had a set of LUXs on my first E9x car and really liked them. Probably the best cosmetic mod for the money.

While I understand your logic, if they weren't stock or available on this car, they aren't technically period correct IMO. But, semantics.
My car came with Lux LEDs when I got it. I couldn't swap to Osram halogens soon enough. The Lux looked aftermarket. I also think turning up the AEs to 13.6v helps a lot.
