Very, Very important observations (me vs. *)

so i woke up at 7 and went for a drive and here's what happened:

Mantis cant drive for shit. after learning heel-toe with side of foot/ball of foot i drove other cars and now im used to toe-heel. toe-heel with M3 = no bueno. i have to re-learn ball/knife of foot

tranny can sound clunky at lower speeds, again we talked about this in 6MT club thread. i just dont ditch the gas pedal when i depress the clutch even when changing from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd. i dont push gas, but i just dont ditch it, like very very extremely light touch. im already loving the clutch.

so that's mantis vs. M3.

now....
M3 vs the new G37 in auto i lost... i was smoked like no other. i was like i thought i can beat it by not giving throttle over 30%, and never over 3k RPM, so i lost to the G37

I hanged head to head with a Pontiac Vibe GT that was really serious about racing me, im like "come again bratha??"

the other last thing is i felt my penis shrank to 1.3 inches when i was followed by a LP640, he followed me and paced me at 30 mph under a bridge and just gunned his car. i think M3's exhaust fell off.....

why did i make the thread? so you guys tell me how you managed with rev-matching and so forth. the only thing that is working for me right now is double clutching, and it doesnt rev that high, so does the power button or anything else help it rev higher when i blip???

Hang tight, man! I feel your pain... I got smoked by a Grand Cherokee SRT-8 and an A6 3.2 (yes, 3.2, not 4.2) yesterday, which I blame on the cold, wet, slippery conditions, the fact that I'm still in break-in, the wheel hop I've mentioned in another thread, and - MOST IMPORTANTLY - the fact that I haven't learned how to properly drive this car yet. Every manual is different, and this is by far the most powerful car I've ever owned... it needs to be respected to be controlled.

Here's to many future stoplight victories.

Almost makes you want to drive around with a sign saying "can't race, engine break-in"

Of Course, the Murciélago driver clearly understands greatness, which is why he was pacing you.. to get a better look.......

The heel-toe method, or rolling my foot, that I learned in my E46 works fine in the M. It's a little different, but the pedals feel a little different than the E46. Also, the throttle response is 10x what it was in the E46, so that takes some getting used to too. And why not go over 3000 rpm? You can take it up to 5 during the break in.

That explains a lot. I guess the RS4 you allegedly smoked cared about break-in period.

Yes, try it with the throttle response set to 'Sport'. This way you need less blip to match the revs at downshifts.

Once your car breaks in you'll be more comfortable and adept with the 6MT. A G37 wont stand a chance.

I'm so happy I will never have this problem of working the clutch to get the max out of it. MDCT FTW baby

Mantis, why are you trying to drag race cars with a brand new car that hasn't been broken in which has throttle and rev limitations? Also, it's just a car. It's not you. So what's up with the penis issues? I guess that is my response to that really...

Heel and toe: this is taking some time to get use to in this car. I finally am beginning to feel comfortable with it. Also, I am concerned about over-revving when matching revs, but that'll go away after the break-in.

Are you kidding me, BMWprince smoked an Enzo, Murci, and, wait for it, a Veyron! All of those cars are no match for his stock 306hp 645, no chance what so evah. Mantis, just wait till you break your car in, and be safe. I can't drive stick for shit either, that's why i would get it with the DCT when and if i get mine.

Don't worry. You penis will grow an additional 4 inches after the 1200 mile servicing. And then another 2 inches after about 3000 miles.

I see. Nobody has tried to race me yet. I had a E36 M3 and a E46 M3 pull aside me and give me thumbs up. They followed me for a little while and went elsewhere. It was cool.

I've received thumbs up from e36 M and e46 M owners. I also had a guy in an e36 328is cross like 5 lanes of traffic to take a look and then go on his merry way.

I also had a souped up Civic pull up next to me at a light and he wanted to have a go but I just waved him by. That really kind of hurt. I've got 400 miles on her at this point and I'm just aching to let her run. I normally don't go looking for people to smoke but if they come looking for me, I'm more than willing to put them in their place....and let them hear a little M music
