couple of summit point photos

I had my second track day at Summit Point recently and purchased a couple of photos. I was getting significantly smoother compared to my first outing. light rain on and off meant I kept MDM on but still got a little practice catching the rear end. the car was nonetheless very fast, and PS2s did me justice. My instructor had a new M3 as well, with DSC - I have to say I can now see the appeal to that gearbox. Plus he had R comps on, and I'm thinking about getting those for next year. I have one more track date on October 16. This experience with the car just makes me love it so much more. Anyway, some photos...

Nice pics - good to see another E90 representing on the track! (PS - I think you mean DCT - not DSC - you have that too! )

Love the shots.

Do you have one in hi-res of the first picture? I could use a new wallpaper.

What group are you doing the Oct. 16th event with? My car is getting re-delivered to me tomorrow so I'm thinking I'd like to try and join too...

And one more question - were you on stock pads?

10/16 is another FATT and I am still a novice - I try and get there early enough to be 1a. I've had 2 instructors sign off on me going to the advanced group, but you need to get 2 on one day, so hopefully I will move up to advanced after this next outing. I don't think it is fully booked yet, and they added another date for october as well.

stock pads and tires. only 3,000 miles on my car so I think both have plenty of life left although I might switch to different pads and tires next year. stock pads are completely fine unless you are a really advanced driver in my opinion.

Not sure about that - I'm not that advanced, yet I've had bad experiences with stock BMW pads at Summit.

And the stock M3 pads gave up on me while in Europe, hustling down a mountain pass - not very confidence inspiring...
