BPM Tune won't reload - need help
The dealer installed a new amp under warranty and wiped my tune and coding. I got the coding fixed and am trying to reload my BPM tune. It gets 91% finished and then stops and gives me this error. I am unable to put a stock flash back on, so I am dead in the water right now. Car will only turn over but won't start due to the unfinished flash.

Check your BPM flash guide. Page 6 says if the ECU SW and HW # does not start with 784 you have to update the SW before you flash the tune. The file name for the sw update is 1‐240E‐Update. Thats probably your issue.

I installed this Tune originally in Dec 2012. I don't have the guide you mention. Do you have a link to it? I don't see it on the BPM site. I do see that my hardware starts with 785, but it has not changed since new and I have always had 240E as it is a 2013.

BPMFlashM3.pdf here you go. The dealer may have upgraded your sw a version higher than the tune can support. So you need to take it back. This is my guess, you should talk to Mike to be sure.

The latest from BMW is at least 241E, if not higher. When I had a faulty FRM replaced last summer, the dealer had to reflash the car and that got me 241E. By now they might be at 242E or something.
