I'm very glad you covered the Headline lenses replacement. that's my next project as well as the window seals.

Yeah he did a good job with the headlights, thinking about it too. I guess that he really needs these headlights if he is going 300km/h on highway Personally I think that you can almost always polish the covers to perfection and if you put PPF on top of it then it is better than stock because it will never get rock chips. I did that on my E91 3 years ago and after 100K km they are still perfect.

Btw I think that he forgot vacuum cleaning before he opened the tank to remove the fuel filter / pressure regulator

Great episode, love seeing the meticulous work he does. To this day the e9x is just an amazing car.

dang, the S65 does get quite hot when you give it some welly. Are oil coolers worthwhile even outside of track use?

yeah but in my case, if the inside of the lenses is yellowing from the light output then you can't do much but to replace it. which is my scenario.. haha

going that speed at damn near the red line and only sitting at i can assume 120C/250F is not that bad.

no need to freak out at that temp in my opinion.

I didn't get why he changed the fuel pump. Is that a common issue as well on this car?

I don't think that it is a common issue. But in the previous episode he had a fuel related problem (I think fuel pressure low). So that's why he did it I guess.

the fuel sending unit on top tends to crack and it probably caused his fuel related problem.

realistically it is a an old car and a he is replacing almost anything he can.

yeah, judging by the flickering, he used LED bulbs for the daylights.

I’d love to do the same mod to my headlights as well. Mine are quite pitted as my car is high mileage from the PO highway driving.
The one question where can I get quality replacement lenses. I feel like it would bother me to have the same issue Screten mentioned with the yellowing line.

Upgraded headlights are underrated. I had BayOptiks rebuild mine with fresh OE lenses, ZKW projector lenses, and Osram CBIs and they are hugely improved. Maybe not to M539's performance given his entirely new projectors, but still incredible and far simpler.

Great video as always. 292s and 8800rpm would be sweet.

A super big one at that.
