Fault 600A - EDC conrol unit internal fault

Have this error when scanning my 2012 comp e92.

The EDC button does nothing when pressing it. I also get the shock symbol on my instrument cluster when shutting off the car "Dynamic damping control malfuntion!" inside the BMW computer.

I checked the connections on the front shocks they look great and I unplugged and replugged them back in.

Is it safe to say it's the module itself?

I did get another module off of eBay it showed up today.

Do I have to disconnect the battery to install it or can I just pop it in? Will it need coded? It did not come out of a comp car and I know the comp ones are setup a little different, but I am unfamilar with coding so I would have to learn first.

Can this be coded from the Bimmercode mobile app or only with a D-Can cable using NCS Expert?

Any advice or help would be appreciated, thank you!

module or SZL / clock spring. you should scan it to see. EDC module needs to be coded i believe. always a good idea to unplug the battery when mucking around with module connections. no real downside. probably can't be coded with bimmercode, you need ista, ncs or protools.

I think I have an M3 problem.

Thank you! I did scan it, which is how I got the 600A message. If I don't do any coding, I will still have the error after I put the new module in?

Hi Pete,

no coding needed when I replaced mine with a used module. This was a comp pack module going into my comp pack car. I believe it will work fine in yours although you will miss the dynamic damper in Sportmode (whether you notice it).

I did not unplugg the battery, just turned ignition off.

Thank you! Worked perfect! I’m back in action. No errors and EDC works again!
