My only problem is the sign growing out of the top of the car. Many here would Clone it out. I'd prefer to take many images and select the best BG.

Great exposure on the car. I wouldn't know a "good angle" from a total fail. I notice you guys shooting all these angles and the almost never strike me as "right."

What makes a "good angle?" Really, I'm curious and asking.

Agreed. I was equally impressed with Santo Spirito but they were pretty adamant about no photography there.

The crop is pretty small here and if you like detail and have a fast connection, you might want to follow the link to Flickr and view it in the Original size. I really enjoy looking at bug and flower details that you can't see with the naked eye.

What noise there is is not disturbing and it's minimized by exposing properly. Here I shot at +1/3EV and blew out the highlight in the eye, but no one cares but us photographers. I'd rather have the details on the bee and flower and control noise, but not eliminate it.

The Flickr full size is great and one day I hope to get something like that but they have to move slower and I have to move faster. I haven't thought about ISO with them with all the light. I'll use crazy ISO indoors to get the good exposure but don't think about that outside.

Just don't automatically or blindly set your ISO at 100, just because there's full sun. The current generation of cameras allow much more flexibility. Think about DOF, shutter speed, etc. then set the ISO as low as you can and still achieve your SS and DOF goals.

With this lens (most lenses really) f/11 is about the limit before diffraction starts smearing details. I'd rather shoot at f/8 to minimize diffraction and maximize details, but I HAD TO have DOF for this kind of macro shooting. Hence, I shot at f/11.

High ISO, UWA lens, hyperfocal guess, F8,IS on, mirror lock up and shutter on multiple slow shots.

Stand in the center, rotate around looking at the marvels and "accidentally" hold down your shutter button while turning with the camera at your hip. It will be quiet with the mirror locked up.

Then leave before the Swiss Guard locks you up.

i wihs i could get better angles - i might need someone to drive me in the bed of their pick-up truck LOLOLOL !!!!

i typically do rolling shots by myself, while driving my own car.

the D700 + 24-70MM lens weighs almost 5lbs and trying to shoot one handed at anythying under 1/90 is NOT going to happen.

i got much better blur when the sun sets, which is great, but it was just after noon on that day with the sun blazing like crazy. on this particular day i knew 1/90th wasn't going to get the real blur effect i like, but at least 95% of the pictures would come out super crispy and tack sharp, with a little blur.

i've shot at 1/60th and 1/40th before but i would say 6 out of 15 shots came out perfect. too much motion blur when you're trying to drive AND shoot at the same time.

here's another one i did. i'm in love with how tack sharp it is.

if i dropped down to 1/40th, i'd "probably" lose all my sharpness.

I went one further and turned on live view at the lowest brightness to compose it from my hip, then set it to quiet mode 2 where I could hold down the button, let the shot record, and let the mirror flip back up behind my back.
