This year and last he was consistently rated near or at the top of every prospect list. The Rays signed him to a six year contract only a few weeks into this - his first - season. Of course, it's still rare to hear anything about the guy... ESPN has to devote 99% of their baseball segment to the Red Sox and Yankees.

Honey, I could name five players from the beginning of the 2002 season. In fact, I have a baseball hit by former catcher Toby Hall signed by the entire Rays team except Ben Grieve. I was never a bandwagon jumper or a secret fan. It's interesting though to see so many Ray fans coming out of the woodwork though. Actually, it's quite nice. Finally the boys are getting some support!

I agree about Wheeler. Maddon relies on him too much and I don't like it.

And I have a great deal of respect for you for being a fan through the good and the bad... in your case, a lot of bad, and recently some damn good.

The only bad thing about a packed Tropicana field is all of those damn cowbells. This isn't a high school soccer game, baseball definitely doesn't "need more cowbell". Sternberg is going to hell for that one.
