That's very impressive! 50-60k miles including a dozen track days per year!

Good to know. Last year I did 10k miles and 12 track days. I'm good for a while.

I thought Ohlins recommended 30K miles and then send in for refresh? I'll look at my manual and post what I find.

Did you find out ever why they tell you to cut the boots? I was going to leave them uncut too?

No I never did. After many miles of use I didn't see the boot get damaged or anything.

I loved this setup when I had it on my car. I have my old setup for sale. Low mileage with Dinan top mounts.

Glad to hear of other users who didnt cut their boots also for their DIY installs!

Like over time the boots squash up over time anyhow, so why do you need to cut them...

TBH I thought the ohlins install manual was pretty poor for a top tier product, and the boots themselves could be integrated much nicer like the oem shocks how they clip into the bump stop. I guess was varying ride heights, they would need to be trimmed, but still cant see why they cant include a longer more sturdier dust boot...

I agree. Rubbish manual on the whole - was a really messy layout and some important things were just skimmed over. Also I had to google for how to set rear ride height correctly regarding the shock length etc.

I ummed and arred about cable tieing the bottoms of the dust boots too, but in the end I didn as I thought there must be a reason why they dont do that OE; maybe to ensure water drains out if it gets in there.
