Haven't filed any claims yet. I've heard from dealers and service centers that Fidelity Warranty Services has been decent with claims. I think with rod bearings, you won't be able to get proactive replacement done, unless there's an issue that affects function of the motor. For example, if the motor blows up because of rod bearings, or if there are serious drive-ability issues..

For throttle actuators, I don't know. Might be good to read through all the different levels - you have a higher level of coverage, so make sure you read through it all the way up to your level: http://www.fidelitywarrantyservices....cle-protection

Just got a deal with Akshay from this thread. Shelly BMW (Where I bought this car) wanted 6k for 3yr/70k platinum coverage. I got the Fidelity 3yr/72k platinum coverage for so much less. I told him I was mainly concerned with DCT repairs and rod bearings for my 2013 M3. He told me both are covered under this warranty.

Please share model year and mileage, it's a big factor in pricing

This was for a 2013 with 25k miles. Also there is a $200 deductible.

Shopping warranties / Fidelity

Got a quote today on my 2013 M3 (21k miles, factory warranty expires next month) for fidelity from the bmw dealer locally. These look decent ?

Fidelity Platinum (exclusionary)
3 years / 36k miles (will take me to 57k miles) $3,649
4 years / 48k miles (will take me to 69k miles) $4,369
5 years / 60k miles (will take me to 81k miles) $4,899

Gold Plus (named components only but looks pretty good)
3 years / 36k miles (will take me to 57k miles) $3,478
4 years / 48k miles (will take me to 69k miles) $3,876
5 years / 60k miles (will take me to 81k miles) $4,341

I'm inclined to go 5/60 Platinum. My worry on this car is ... evaporator and rod bearings. Figure 3K evaporator ... I'm fine with 1800 bucks for piece of mind. I can guarantee you something will break something worth 1800 bucks in the next 5 years on the car lol.

I agree about evaporator. Of course engine is priority
I found this at my dealer
Allstate
+8yr/60k miles
Drivetrain /
200 deductible
-2400.

Drivetrain plus is like 2900.... probably worth it for AC system

I just bought a 2013 BMW M3 last week, 21k miles on it. My BMW warranty covers through the end of the year but I'm already thinking about an extended warranty and this thread is great help! I emailed Akshay and Josh Alford and have yet to hear back from either.

My question is, are both of those guys a broker? As in, can they get me terms from Fidelity, Easycare, as well as Zurich? Those seem like the top three from this thread and others on this website. Does anyone have a great, responsive, fair broker who CAN get me terms from all three? Looking for a great recommendation.

Thanks!

Deciding between a car from CarMax (e90 '09 80k miles) and a non-local BMW dealership (e90 zcp '11 ~60k miles). CarMax makes the warranty process easy and it is $6k for up to 125k miles and 48mo and $50 deductible. Getting the contact information for a quote for a warranty from the online sales guy has impossible impossible so far. I am going to talk to my local BMW shop tomorrow or Monday about it and see what the process is for a car so far removed from the BMW warranty.

Thanks for the information and confirming how difficult the process is.

Michael Jourdan <mjourdan@mossymotors.com> helped me out with a Fidelity Warranty Services $250 deductible silver policy on my '11 39k mile M3.

Most dealerships seem to only work only one warranty underwriter.

I have 2011.5 e90 with 49650 miles, and I just added a 4 yr/50k mile warranty from national. It has zero deductible and covers the normsl car parts and some pre-emptive wear and tear as well as the usual towing and rental services. This was offered from my local bmw dealer and the cost was 3600. I love the peace of mind.

This thread has become a nice information bank with lots of useful hints and facts. It sounds like you found another good option, congratulations! Could I make one suggestion, which is to add a link about the product or the contact details for the person who sold it to you?

If everybody keeps on doing that then this thread will be even more useful.

For the Fidelity plan, what 'level' have people gotten? It seems like 'gold plus' will cover the RBs, throttle actuators and a/c evap.

Yeah when I bought mine last month, i bought the gold plus coverage. Dealer told me it literally covers everything except maintenance plus $250 deposit. I probably could've negotiated a little bit but still have the peace of mind.

I spoke to a really reputable german car body shop who are rated 5 stars even told me the fidelity is a really good one.

This is all great info guys. Thanks for all of this. I have a 2013 with only 17K miles and BMW dealers in North NJ are quoting me 4900 and up for 2 years! Ridic. Anyone have any experience with Easycare? Also I am about to throw a blower on my car.. assuming that would void even the aftermarket warranty so then there would be no point at all. LOL

Sorry, just saw this. It is sold by the bmw dealer in Fresno, Ca.(there is only one in Fresno) The sales associates name was Housev. One thing I found interesting is that the warranties can become more expensive and offer less coverage after the car hits 50k miles. This is why I brought mine in for warranty at 49xxx miles. And I know I could have done rod bearings and more with that much, its just that the warranty covers SO MANY things. It is versatile, in that if I break down further than 50 miles from my local bmw dealer, I can take it other shops to do the work. If the work is free and covered I prefer sending it to the dealership, or other dealerships for repair. I have a pretty good working relationship with my service advisor.

Thanks for the post, I am going to email since the others listed in this thread are non-responsive.

Awesome thread guys. I'm looking to buy a used '13 E92 and getting extended warranty. Has anyone had the big ticket items such as throttle actuators and rod bearings replaced successfully under these warranty plans?

This is a great thread, very informative. I narrowed my search down to Fidelity, EasyCare, Zurich and CarChex. I must've made 30+ calls trying to get a quote. CarChex was the only one that actually followed through and provided me with a quote. EasyCare said I actually need to own the car before they would provide me with a quote. For Fidelity and Zurich, I found non-BMW dealers that offered the 3rd party warranty and sent them the info on the M3 I was looking at, but never heard back. I followed up multiple times with no response. I finally gave up since I decided not to get the car anymore. The search continues...

Got a quote from AutoPOM for 5yr/50k @ $3042 for their CarGuard Platinum Plus (exclusionary) on my '11 E90 w/37.5k miles. That seems like a pretty good deal and the contract mirrors Fidelity Plat plan, but I'm worried about the lack of reviews for the administrator. Every other quote I've received thus far as been well above $4.5k and usually for powertrain/silver plans only. They are insured by a 3rd party bank which does quell some of the fear...anyone have any experience with AutoPom?

I almost went with them, but had the same feelings as you. Didn't see many reviews and that doesn't sit well with me.

I called many places, but notice you are in VA, same as me. Of all places, I called the BMW dealer in Fairfax, thinking to myself they would shaft me.

Got the platinum 5yr/60k for 4300. It's obviously a little more, but I don't have any doubts about coverage now. I have an 11 E92 w/ 30K, so yours isn't far off.

You can pay it all up front or no interest for 18 months.

If interested, I can give you his name and number via PM, you might get a good deal.
