If your so confident the car is desirable why do you care about the reserve? The reality is unless its a low mileage manual low optioned car with impeccable provenance it's not going to fetch big money, no matter what the enthusiast echo chamber tells you. I see a car very similar to yours was listed at $32k and no one jumped on it.
I'm sure there are a few cars "similar" to mine in appearance, but I'm willing bet a very small fraction has had the level of maintenance and repairs mine has seen. So, if I don't get what I want for it, it doesn't sell. The low reserve is something I'm not willing to gamble with this time of year as it's a very bad time to try and sell. In June I had an offer at $38k but I decided to keep the car and not pursue a 911. I also had a few others around 35/36k that I declined. This tells me there is a market for it at that price point but recently things have seemed to level out. I'm not desperate to sell or I'd price more aggressively like the MR E90 a couple weeks ago. If I get desperate and no one bites, I'll drop accordingly

Agreed. Mines currently completely stock, not sure I can resist an Eisenmann Race though...
If I'm honest I have found myself searching for anything BMW M3 since I bought it, the mod bug is real 😅

I may have been able to get more selling on BAT, but I'm happy with the sale I made and had 3-4 others as backups if it fell through.

I fully believe I'll regret the sale in 10-20 years when minty fresh E90M3's will be selling for stupid E30M3 prices.

My strategy for selling was simple: Price it below market and close with minimal hassles. I had zero hassles with my buyer and multiple backup buyers with cash in hand (literally -- one sent me a picture of the cash with my name on it!).
I'm so sad to hear you sold the E90!!!!

Ugh had I known...

Very much so. When I was searching I drove a car with the Eisenmann Race and it sounded unreal.

If you read the advert it would appear to be well maintained and had plenty of recent maintenance. It also has correct ZCP wheels not knockoffs with oversized tires. It's also completely stock which to many buyers is preferable. You have a nice car, and I wish you luck with the sale. But if someone did actually offer you $38k you should of bitten their hand off.

I have OEM wheels I can put back on it if a buyer would prefer them. My car is far from heavily modified and can be returned to 100% stock if a buyer would also prefer. Sounds like you're NOT a buyer so your opinion is appreciated but ultimately isn't going to sway mine

Edited cause my last response sounded very asshole like, not what I'm trying to portray

2022 BMW M3  [10.00]
People look at this the wrong way sometimes.

I bought my E92 brand new for about 70k in 2010 (it's a 2011). Now I happen to not use it to much, so it only has 29k for it and is stock aside from an exhaust. So let's say I get about 35 for it, just for arguments sake. That's half of what I paid for it.

So, that means I just owned an M3 for 9 years and paid 35k for it. An E90 is an even better proposition, because they were cheaper than the coupe brand new. It's safe to say that, if you own a BMW with an S65, and your roof doesn't fold into the trunk, you will be able to buy and enjoy the car without worrying much about depreciation.

I am a bmw guy who has small car dealership here in nj. For the last 2 years the wholesale e90 m3 market was going down.. but over the past 5 months it's very different. Most listed on manheim are high miles with buy it now prices 2-4k above wholesale or low mile sub 50 for 6-10k above wholesale. Last week in nj here a 08 AW with 76k 6mt sold for 19k and it was as-is.. prices have bottomed out I think this past summer.

So now that BMW has discontinued wagon imports, how will that affect long term value for the e91M3 I'm completing

E90 prices have been pretty flat for the last 1-2 years, not up or down much other than seasonality. What I have seen, is E92s slowly going down. They’ll plateau in time, but supply/demand... I do think late year E92s will remain desirable and comparable to E90s in price.
Not only is the E90 more rare, but it was more often daily driven (weekend toy buyers leaned coupe), so most have higher miles, and they’re older (-11). Add it up and finding a clean low mile example is often an exercise of patience.
E90 prices are closer to 2012-13 ZCP E92 prices, miles and spec equal.
