Starter Replacement

In order to get the starter out, I need to disconnect the battery but I've been told that it would need recoding? Can I not just disconnect the battery like I normally would in any other car in order to swap out the starter and just reconnect it?

Any help would be appreciated

You don't need to code the battery if all you are doing is disconnecting it. Only when the battery itself is being changed.
