New E92 M3 Owner
So I went and picked up a 2009 BMW E92 M3. I love the interior feel and ride of the M3 but the exterior is lacking and dated to me. I am coming from a modified Z4MC and it was pretty much done. I went to look at it this morning and I was like OMG the M3 doesn't look that great. This car needs a lot of work to get it to my Z4MC level. I have the carbon fiber dash trim and don't like that much either. I love the brushed aluminum my Z4MC had so I may swap out this cf interior.
So here is my list of must haves before I even drive this thing again. I have a new X5 which I will be driving until these items are bought.... H&R Springs 10 mm spacers front and rear Alcantara shiftknob Tint Blacked out front grills Blacked out side girls LCI tails I already have Magnesium Blue Volk CE28s and new rubber so rims are good to go. Sorry to sound a little negative but coming from a modified NSX an Z4MC done this E92 in stock form just does not look good. Sad but true. Car just needs a lot of work. No big deal. What else do you guys recommend? I am keeping this car simple.

So why did you buy the car? The mods you list are fairly minor changes. It won't alter the exterior that much. Either the above is an overstatement, or you're not going to be happy with the car even after mods.

It looked good and they always have. I have owned modified E46 M3, E86M, NSX, S2000, 350z, etc.. Just in stock form the car sitting next to my modified Z4M looks dated. Nothing wrong with that either. Not sure why a bunch of you guys are getting your panties in a bunch...
I was having second thoughts all day today about getting rid of it already and moving onto the car I really want.. This is "in the mean time" I guess....

Sorry I did not mean to be harsh at all I'm sure in the end you do the right thing. It is important to be happy when you are behind the wheel. I'm no angel either sold my e46 in the spring of 2010 then went on a rampage purchased 2 Z4s then a e92 2011 Basic then traded her in for my now fully loaded 2012 ... so I'm in my 5th Bimmer in under 2 years neighbours are starting to talk not that I blame them ... I just tell them I deserve it worked hard for it and I'm not leaving before I spend it all BTW I wear boxers not panties Hope you get it all resolved my friend.

And here I thought folks are buying/leasing this car because of the way it drives. But it's your money, so whatever floats your boat and makes you happy.

Good luck figuring it out...with the way she will handle, fun factor, etc. you may want to think about body kits, etc. before you give up. Just food for thought.

Hey Op, pm'd. However, to lift up the exterior you can always do an added front lip and a nice drop; slick set of wheels and call it a day. What does it for me is when I used to start it up with my modded oem exhaust, pure sex. Congrats either way.

LOL! I guess some people are a little sensitive toward their cars. In any case, to each his own. Your proposed mods aren't that different than a lot of other enthusiasts. If you really want your M3 to stand out, may want to consider a body kit. Not my style though. Good luck.

I agree with everybody... if you didn't like the car from the beginning why even bother getting it. Quick question what is the car that you really want any way. You said earlier that your saving up for the car you really want ?
