Used exhaust wont go back together
Hi guys
So I picked up a used e90 corsa exhaust. It's in very good condition from what I can tell. However the axel pipe and muffler inlet wont slip on. It seems if I could just stretch the muffler inlet by 1-2mm, it will accept the axel pipe. Has anyone tried an exhaust tube expander or any other ideas to get them back together? Should I try taking it to a midas/meineke to get them to expand it? |

Make sure they are really clean use some wd40 on a rag or nevrdull. Try leaving the female side in the sun and put the male end on ice.

This. I had difficulty installing mine as well. It's difficult without a lift and a second set of hands. With that said, if I can do it, you can it. Keep at it.

I also had a little trouble with a used corsa. Some lube and hard pushing while twisting got it in. It also helped to have one part mounted and press the other into it. Adjusting the position of the tips while keeping the pipes inserted deep enough to prevent leakage was also annoying.

So just lube it up and force it in deep.

My Akra Evo pipe was like that when I tried to mate it with my Akra angle back. Some WD40 like roast beef said and a rubber mallet got them together beautifully. Remember to push from the hips and go deep!!
