StudioRSR roll cage / roll bar - BMW E90 & E92

StudioRSR Cartesian and Tesseract roll cages

StudioRSR has developed an outstanding rollcage / rollbar (half-cage) for the E90 & E92 chassis to fulfill motorsport, HPDE, and track-day needs. Increased chassis rigidity and safety combined with a modern design befit of the newer models, makes the StudioRSR M3 roll cage the premium option available in the market.

Designed and manufactured in-house, StudioRSR uses the latest manufacturing technologies to create this upgrade with **NASA Racing specifications** and wide-radius bends. There is zero metal crimping and zero tubing wall failure that is often seen from alternative roll cages. The Tesseract half-cage is 100% bolt-in featuring a 4-point optimum mounting design with form-fitted brackets specific to the E92 & E90 chassis. Professional installation is recommended, but installation is made easy with chromoly interlocking tubing clamps, zero welding, and all necessary hardware included. Additionally, street-spec classed vehicles can retain their rear seats if preferred. Available in-house at StudioRSR or shipped direct to you or your preferred Dealer/Installer internationally. The Tesseract half-cage consists of 2 main pieces making installation and shipping even easier.

The development of the Tesseract roll cage / roll bar came about from customer demands from StudioRSR's track/enthusiast clientele from their previous generation E36 M3 or E46 M3. With several clients and some of our own staff now licensed and racing within several NASA & SCCA Racing, HPDE, and Time Trial classes, a professional motorsport solution was needed to maintain manufacturing quality in-house. The bend in the rear legs is an aesthetic touch, but we also offer it in straight rear leg version for customers going to sanctioned events with rulebook requirements.

Syt_shadow has a whole post on it in here. I'm on phone so hard to post link but it's there if you search.

Genuine question. Why keep the rear seats in if they are unusable, take up space and are heavy?

Speaking for myself...especially in my color combo, keeping the Fox Red seats in maintains that perfect contrast to the Space Gray exterior, also keeps the interior looking "complete" to me.

Regardless if they're useless now, they don't take up any more space than they did before the cage...and for me personally, not concerned with weight reduction in the least bit.

If I had black interior and/or was concerned with weight reduction, then those mofos are coming out. lol

We have the sedan already (surprisingly enough; since we had solid sedan interest first) but we have some E46 M3's scheduled to come in next month. Here's some pics of the E46 sedan roll cage.

About half of the guys remove the seats and half keep them. From what we hear from our customers who choose to keep their seats, they like to keep them in for aesthetic purposes rather than functional use of the seats. We're also expanding our offerings for rear seat delete options beyond the current M4, F80M3, and M2 that we have. Our Full Cage options do not retain the rear seats.

Personally, on my street cars that I take to the track, I always strip the rear seats and the spare tire out of the trunk the night before or at the track. Although, on my E36 M3, having the spare tire in the trunk was better for handling (Car wasn't ever fully corner-balanced)
