Wasn't that in the DR?
Tainted Liquor was cancun(?) or at least Mexico. DR had lethal bug spray.

this is not unusual. I've seen mini tanks on local streets in Cabo's; more of a deterrent if anything. No one gets locked up in Mexico for carrying a gun. This is just a display of "i've got the biggest gun, ok MF"?

I'm fairly certain it was Mexico.

I don't know anything about Costa Rica. Never been there. But I hear it's nice.

Every American needs to take a Caribbean cruise to realize how close the third world is to us.

The most interesting port that I've visited on a cruise was Belize. Went to see a Mayan pyramid at a national park, which required crossing a small river on a hand-cranked ferry. The pyramid is right next to the border with Guatemala, and the park is patrolled by armed Belize soldiers. Our tour guide told us to stay away from the tree line along the western edge of the park, since it was at the Guatemala border and it was possible that us Americans could be kidnapped by Guatemalans for ransom which is why Belize had soldiers patrolling. They also had permanent checkpoints at every entry/exit from the capital, and they even did a walk-through of our bus going out and again when we came back. Never felt like we were in danger, but it was enough to make me keep my eyes open the entire time just in case.

If anyone thinks that the Caribbean is like the gated resorts of Sandals and Club Med, I suggest taking a tour outside of their fences for a real eye-opener. Jamaica - Once you go, you know...to get the fsck out of there and never go back!!!!!

I just got back from a little over a week on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica down in Puerto Viejo. The most dangerous thing down there was the heat and humidity.

I've also been to Mexico City multiple times and it's a great place to visit.

Another horribly tragic story from south of the border this morning. 9 Americans butchered by what seems to be drug cartels going at it. Theyíre not sure exactly what happened but we do know American women and children have been shot up and burned by animals. This Forbes articles claim that more Americans are murdered there than all other countries are shocking. Time to put Murderco on the no go list.
These are the scum that are intermingled with good folk flooding north and killing us here also. Build the wall, faster!

75 murders out of 31,000,000 visitors? Thats effectively the same odds of dying in a plane crash on the way to Mexico. One is more likely to be murdered here than in MX, as well.

Americans live here and we canít change that so quick, due mostly to liberal politics but the fact that it doesnít make you take notice that more murders are committed in that one country then all the rest of countries put together that millions of Americans travel to isnít alarming to you is, well alarming.
Not forgetting all the rapes, robberies, kidnappings and other serious felonies committed there against Americaís also.
Bottom line, there are much safer places to visit then Mexico and nicer also. Canít go out on the streets there and not get assaulted by beggars and hawkers anywhere Iíve been down there. Like swarms of gad flies.

Breaking news- being reported now this isnít the first run in with mex thugs. Some time ago they kidnapped at least one member of the family and this was new event was a targeted revenge hit on the family. Woman and children purposely slaughtered by animals.

I have a good friend who lives in Mexico for almost 20 years. He lives in Mexico City. Buh he and his wife are professions. I am guessing he is the 95% income bracket. His family has been affected by crime.

He would move but he has $$$$$ tied up in a new house in Mex City. He said he is pretty save bc of the location and upper class 'hood. But he has told me that the country is going down hill fast. I do expect him to leave in the future.

"Visitors" visit the safer resorts. The crime rates in the U.S. are the same as U.S. bc of the Liberal controlled cess pool cities. But you would have a significant chance of being killed driving through Mex.
