Julian Assange Has Been Arrested!
Serves the little shit right. Apparently, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been arrested by UK police at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
The arrest comes after the Ecuadorian government withdrew his asylum. He had been in the building for almost seven years to avoid being extradited to Sweden. Ecuador’s President Lenín Moreno said on Twitter the action was taken after Assange’s “repeated violations to international conventions and daily-life protocols.” Video footage from the arrest: Link to additional details: https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/11/uk/ju...ntl/index.html

Carried out like a man.....(sarcasm just to be clear). As an aside I hate seeing coppers carrying anyone. They used to teach techniques to get people to walk, but it required a bit of pain compliance and that seems mean (sarcasm again).
Anyway, glad he will finally face the courts. If he believed so much in what he was doing he should've stood up like a man (see earlier comment) and faced his accusers and backed his position up. Last edited by City Pig; 04-11-2019 at 09:49 AM.. |

I....I don't understand...he talked so tough in front of a camera??? Wha....what happened to him? Are....are we to really believe that someone could act tough behind a keyboard but be a pansie in real life? Say it ain't so!!
I'm guessing he is going to prison....though that being said....he did sort of help Trump with the DNC stuff did he not? He might influence a more lenient sentence behind the scenes. |

So I just heard on the radio that the US has announced the charges he'll be facing. Conspiracy to interfere with computer data (or something like that) I gather extradition will be started quickly, hopefully it moves quicker than getting Meng out of Canada.

Take everything she and The Guardian say with a bucket of salt.
May pressured Ecuador and, I'll assume, she was pressured by us. Something is up, beyond the rape accusations. If he has the drive that he was, supposedly, given with the dnc emails on it, that is what the US is after. Like I said, something bigger is going on.

Treason? He's not American. Espionage is what you're looking for. Imo, that will be hard to prove. He has never hacked anything to my knowledge. He accepts, verifies and publishes.

Adjusted:
He has aided and abetted those who committed high treason. He has also been designated as a criminal foreign intelligence service. Australia has noted that they have been unable to collect enough evidence to convict him of crimes, but that acts they believe he committed are illegal. Joe Biden has called him a terrorist.

In 1987, Assange began hacking under the name Mendax. He and two others—known as "Trax" and "Prime Suspect"—formed a hacking group they called the International Subversives. He is thought to have been involved in the WANK (Worms Against Nuclear Killers) hack at NASA in 1989, but he does not acknowledge this. In September 1991, Assange was discovered hacking into the Melbourne master terminal of Nortel, a Canadian multinational telecommunications corporation. The Australian Federal Police tapped Assange's phone line (he was using a modem), raided his home at the end of October, and eventually charged him in 1994 with thirty-one counts of hacking and related crimes. In December 1996, he pleaded guilty to twenty-five charges (the other six were dropped), and was ordered to pay reparations of A$2,100 and released on a good behavior bond. The perceived absence of malicious or mercenary intent and his disrupted childhood were cited to justify his lenient penalty

I think Assange is on the people's side - hacking to expose disgusting practices by governments & corporations that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
I can understand however if you are/were in the military you will probably hate him. |

As was said earlier, I respected him/them when he/they didn't have a clear political motivation and was going after everybody. When he went down the road of only going after the West (mainly US) and then essentially just the Dems, I lost all the respect for him as it became clear he was working for someone. My guess and many others is/was for Putin.
