I thought it was an engine-swapped 335 or 328, no? Cool build anyways

I mean at that point, many of these drift cars/race cars started as 3 series then achieved levels higher than M3s.

The ones that hoon mention it as a M3 in the title of their feature: https://www.hoonigan.com/blogs/daily...as-been-raised

It's pretty clearly an in-line 6. Probably a sweet ride none the less.

Oh yeah definitely JZ powered now, I think what he was discussing was did it start as a base 3 series or as a M3?

Would be kinda weird to throw a base 3 series rear bumper on the car if it was a M3 to start with. Much less weird to put a M3 front bumper on a base 3 series. It would likely be a lot less expensive to go with a base model if your intent is to gut it.

Idk these drift cars get demolished, many times body panels never make it back on or they put it on in a way to make it look like a car from 50 ft away.

It's crashed so many times, It's probably cheaper like Danny said just to get a bumper on.

That is a good episode, if you want another E92 M3 video on Hoonigan check out DriftSquid's RBM3 video.

Its a 3 series
During one of the episodes when he goes over his life story he states he got the car from the junkyard and its a 3 series that he threw a 2jz in.

Unlike all those 3 series with M3 badges, it gets a honorary M3 claim
