BMW warranty and free maintenance
I'm currently looking for a 2010 or 2011 E92 M3 and have a question about the BMW warranty and free service.
If I buy a car that still has the balance of the manufacturers warranty (2010 or 2011), does the balance of the free maintenance also carry over? Thanks in advance - this is a great forum - loads of great information for folks looking to get acquainted will all things M. |

Simple answer, confirm with BMW to be safe. Warranties are registered with BMW and they will be able to tell you yes or no. It's part of doing your homework before you buy.
Good luck. |

the free maintenance certainly carried over for me.i bought my 08 last april, and had free maintenance until 10/12 when the car reached 4 years old.i got a bunch of stuff on it,including front rotors and pads.
i think there's a mileage limit,too,so check on that. |

Generally yes, the coverage carries over and is for four year or 50,000 miles. But as others have pointed out, confirm that with a BMW dealer. If you are buying the car from a BMW dealer the answer will be simple to obtain. If you are buying third-party, get the VIN and call your local BMW dealer. Better yet, bring the car to the dealer for a pre-purchase inspection and they should be able to give you all the information on the car including the remaining warranty coverage...

Your car has full warranty and Maintenance as long as it is withing 4year and less thatn 50k miles from the in service date. No matter where you bought the car from and no matter how many previous owners your car had. It will be covered.
Unless the warranty was VOIDED by the previous owners and if that is the case, your out of luck.

Yea it carries over. You have whatever is left of the 4 year / 50k miles since the car's in service date
Everything transfers over with exception of the bmw assist convienence package. Go to your dealer and tell them you want to put the cars info in your name. If the car has the convienence plan on it, you will lose it |
