The above video is a 5-series, and is therefore a different process than the 3-series.
This video is much more accurate to the E9x M3. I just performed this today to remove my overdue "Vehicle Check" (visual inspection), and it worked great!

Mine required the engine to be running to reset the oil, but not the state inspection (which is the symbol the guy from the video above didn't know what it was) . Maybe if I press the brake pedal, but it's a manual. Oh well. But it works. Just in case it doesn't, do it with the engine running and it will folks. By the way, if you keep pressing the button initially and don't release it with the service icon, it'd go to the 'secret menu' explained somewhere else on this board.

I had my 60k vehicle check down at 58k miles a couple weeks ago. Car required an oil change ($180 or so) and $170 for the vehicle check. No problems. In fact, I've never had a problem with my M (knock on Mac Book metal).

Old thread, but did you get any maintenance done at this time (other than an oil change)?
Have 56K, same vehicle check light. Oil not due for another 4000 miles though according to idrive. |
