Shop for stroker build in MI.
Had the unfortunate event of my brother hydro locking my car. So I am looking into the option of replacing all the internals and going with a stroker kit in addition to my ESS vt2-625.
Any shops you guys recommend around the metro Detroit area? |

Shipping out the engine is an option. I already have it out of the car. I've been hearing good things about Lang also.

I live on the west side and Troy has done plenty of work on the v10 with stoker kits.

I haven't heard of any good news with that combo. However, Steve Dinan's new company offers a stroker build for FI.

I'm in Maine, but PM me if interested. I've done a few V-10s and have a V-8 in the works now. Long lead on cranks (about 3-4 months), but pistons and rods are usually ready and waiting on it.

He has built a few for some race shops. I'll be posting up the build process here shortly on ours. 4.5 liter with compression change for the blower. Billet crankshaft, rods, pistons, the works Should be a solid built with lots of power and never have to replace rod bearing shells again |

The only place I've found that I would trust, Marine Crankshaft. The lead times aren't the best, but I've had zero problems on odd requests with them and the product is exceptional. Fairly certain the same place Dinan and most others use as well.

When the decision was made to move forward with the custom made crank it took about 4 weeks. Maybe give Steve Dinan a call next time you are doing a build. He runs the engine build department at this shop. Very nice guy and extremely knowledgeable. Just to note, Dinan and Steve's shop Carbahn Autoworks are 2 separate places. He has no affiliation with Dinan anymore. |

I'm in NJ. I have approximately 188K on mine and blow-by occurs when I drive hard in the upper revs like 4K up.
This will b one of my next big dollar items to get her back to normal. I will be hitting you guys up with advice regarding rebuild or refresh options. |

I prefer to keep things mostly in house, so we do our own machining on the blocks for about 99% of the work. Line boring and honing as about all we contract out now and since we don't really do a lot of engines that need it, doesn't make sense to buy a machine for that. All cylinder boring, honing, and Alusil exposure is done in house. That's a steep learning curve in and of itself so, a lot of research and willingness to learn to get right. Even Dinan had some difficulty with it for a while it, eventually getting the specialist from Rottler out to assist, or so his story went. In the process of getting the engine dyno set up to do break-in and testing in house, but a few months away from being usable. That will be a good asset as ring break in can be done in controlled manner. It will run using a Motec M150, live tuning quickly yields the optimal VANOS maps with different cams for maximization of VE and then those can be transferred into the OEM DME. |

Used them on domestic billet cranks, and the S54.
