Glad to hear this is really wrapping up this time. I'm back to my Porsche forums now, but wish you all the best of luck, lots of winding roads with no traffic, no speed traps and plenty of sunshine.
Enjoy Ken! I will check back for pics of the arrival in a few weeks. |

"The opera isn't over until the fat lady sings", but it looks like we will have a happy ending. I am curious to know what Ken had to spend on Attorney's fees and other related expenses, to make things right.
I am looking forward to seeing pics of that M3, in perfect condition, sitting in Ken's driveway.

Hello all,
I really have no reason to post other than that I was with Jeff today when he was taking pictures. I had arrived at BMW of Lincoln before Jeff got there and met with one of the sales people who gave me a tour of the dealership and asked me some questions about my MINI. Then Jeff showed up and we each took some pictures. So I present my shots as well. The car looked great to me. Full size pics can be found in my flickr James Petersen BMW CCA MVC (MINI Columnist)

The one thing that might hit Ken, if he hasn't already realized it, is that he's going to have to pay a nice fee to the state (sales tax) when he registers the car here in Cali.
Be prepared.... |

Yes, after all what has been said and done, he will incur to have more than $70k in payments. At least, he has exposed a dealership and its practices. I wonder how much he will have to pay Scott who has done a wonderful job.

An incredible congrats is certainly in order. Phenomenal!
Can't wait to see pics of this thing. Now can we wish for the thread to hit 1 million views and make it a record? |

This thread is definitely going to hit 1 million by the end of next week. After Ken takes delivery of his car and updates the thread, its going to be well over 1 million views.

Dooma!
Well finally it looks like this thing is sorted and I for one would like to say...... ...but I won't until I see a picture of it in sunny California. I was thinking that you should just have the number plate as 'Dooma' (or similar) everyone who knows about this will 'know' and you're the one who should get the glory. She looks great in the latest photo's, but I always think cars look best on a road with epic scenery behind them - shouldn't be a problem where you live! One thing's for certain: if this week has been a long one, then the next seven days until she arrives will be even longer....just waiting! I look forward to next week when the two legends finally meet at the end of this epic story. All the best Dooma! Last edited by BritBoy; 04-01-2008 at 06:58 AM.. |

Apologies for the multiple posts but I would like to suggest a soundtrack for Dooma's first journey in his new baby...
The Doors : Riders on the Storm Thought this would be great as he drives of into the sunset after collecting the car. Any one else have suggestions? |

Ken,
Hope all goes well with the transport and delivery of your SWEET M3! Good luck and thanks for keeping us updated as best as you could. You brought alot of people together on here! I would suggest UNITY or a variant of that for your personalized plates. Best wishes for you and your ride!

Yes, you're right, but the point is that those kinds of things are contractual, not on a case-by-case basis. They still don't dictate HOW the retailer sells their wares. Car dealers have lots of contractual obligations as well. But manufacturers aren't going to step in and stop the retailer from making a customer angry because of their sales tactics. That's the retailer's problem.

Grats Dooma glad this is all over and now dealerships will hopefully understand that honoring a business transaction is pretty important...I think Lincoln got a lot of bad rap for some stupid employee's mistake of not setting a reserve price....we all knew you had it and now its almost on its way, hope to see a new thread or update when you take delivery!

Many congratulations Ken and Husker for resolving this amiably. There are multiple lessons to be learned from this. The most glaring is that sometimes, it's far more prudent to capitalize on your own mistakes and turn it into a positive, than to butt heads and risk negative publicity. The essence of effective marketing lies in the ability to know how and when to capitalize. Can't wait to see the pics of your new gem, Ken!

Congrats and it's about time you got some good news. As for the first song you play in the car, it should be a Queen number, Can't stop me now or We are the Champions. This must be done with all windows down and volume at MAX.
