the revshift black poly mounts have been fine in my 6speed e90 over the last two years. Tightened up the drivetrain slop and help with the added power.

Any increase in NVH? I might go this route when I upgrade RB

Very little chatter in here about Vorshlag, anyone using their motor mounts? I ended up with a set of nylon ones I was going to put on my e46 but might put them on my e92 instead. Thoughts?

yes there is added nvh, it settled down alot since the mounts have broken in, however the drivetrain it tight, very little slop if any. combined with the solid shifter, the car feels solid.

Feel like anyone going through this thread should also be aware of the Vibra-technics engine mount failures thread - LINK

Redd also has a good review of the new Powerflex hybrid engine mounts on page-3 of the same thread.

Well here I am again about to buy and install yet another set of engine mounts! Thank you Redd for being the early adopter on the Powerflex mounts, likely following suit and planning to insert the optional rods as well now that my car is more track leaning again. Will provide my thoughts as always after I get some track and street time in.

Just ordered and thought I should share they are 15% off and free shipping on the Bimmerworld sale, a good deal.

Nothing bad to report about the PF engine mounts. 12k kms already, just set and forget. I think you'll like them!

Did you switch to metal ties or is it still on plastic zip ties for the heat shield wrap?

Still on the plastic zip ties. Haven't had a reason to touch them since the install. Eyeballed them a couple weeks back and everything still looks intact.

These mounts look great, and even came with new nuts and washers, problem though in that I can't get the black rods to go into the holes. May call Powerflex today to see if they have any tips for doing that, a little disappointed it's not easier to do.

Mine could slide in without any problems. Use some lube maybe?

After reading this thread, I'm still inclined to just stay with OEM and replace every 30k.

Appreciate the info and I do suspect some grease would do the trick. After reading a few more reviews and considering my own previous comments on the Turner 90a mounts I decided to try without the pins at first after all, went ahead and installed the mounts today! Will do a test run on the street over the next few days and have a track weekend scheduled weekend after this one, will definitely report back with my thoughts.

I wouldn't rule them out quite yet and sorry if my posts are the ones that dissuaded you. For the most part I was putting harder mounts in a car I intended as more street than track and have slowly come around to softer mounts but still think I will end up preferring stiffer than OE. For me personally, my car is now more track focused (while still streetable) and my past experience with stiffer mounts on the track has motivated me to continue chasing an optimal setup. When I had track spring rates and stiff mounts on my previous e92 m3, braking on track felt massively improved. I'm finally back to true track spring rates again with my new suspension setup and am trying what I think will be a sweet spot with good track behavior and low NVH. We'll see, but I do think there are benefits to stiffer mounts if track is the goal.

See page 6. I added an e36 shield to the mounts (both side) seems to help. Small insurance to help the mount rubber last longer.

Powerflex Mounts - Pins Out Street Review

Guys, these mounts are legit amazing on the street (and surely the track as well). Have driven them for a few days on the street now and totally transforms the chassis and braking versus OE mounts. I'm really impressed. Also, Powerflex UK emailed me and their pin making machine may have been off, they are going to check it and re-configure it and send me a new set of pins at a later date. Awesome support, they actually went and checked on things, feel like most companies would assume customer error (I did myself, hah).

For street/street use I will say that the other reviews are spot on, there is a little bit of steering wheel vibration at a stop light, but truly minimal compared to some of the other mounts I've tried like Turner 90A's and AKG Poly. Then once you are moving it's just good things, no added vibration. The engine exhaust note is slightly improved, DCT shifts a bit firmer. For the street I would say install sans pins and be done.

2-day track weekend this weekend, will report back with my track thoughts after.

Yeah Powerflex have been super responsive, unlike that other engine mount company (*koff*vibratechnics*koff*). And what's not to love about lifetime warranty?

Still loving my powerflex engine mounts, many track days in now and all good things both street and track.

Powerflex did also send me replacement pins but I have not used them, probably will stick with my current no pins setup.
