Haha, actually bought from a dealer who usually don't give money away, however Dec ('13) so wanted to close prior year shift. Must have been around 92kEuro new, paid 47kE with 11.2k miles on the clock. The fresh '11-12 coupes today seems go well over 40k and recon the sedan/zcp will add a tad on that.

Reliability of fitted equipment is inferior to popular entry level Japanese cars by far. I've owned both over the years so I know. At least with Japanese cars, issues are limited to one hand count, as an owner you just know them and the rest of the car is absolutely solid, but not for a BMW. it's a long list of random quality parts and flawed designs (something that you don't easily find on Japanese cars). For those of you who babied, garaged and drive your car like a classic collection car you only delayed occurence of failures.
Sorry to rain on your parade but of all cars i've owned this is by far the most unreliable at every level not just mechanical but secondary equipment, electrical equipment, even minor little things have been produced at economic cost and the separate parts design integration has been poorly done . It might as well be made in China as this is how i would rank it in terms of unreliability. What separates it even further from Japanese cars is when secondary system works some of them come short of performing like they are supposed to. Examples : comfort access range is very limited and opening the trunk is a matter of inches and repeated tries (poor transceiver + antenna design/placement/materials) when similar option in Japanese cars is flawless. The seat belt handling system is a #@%$g secondary school kid project and BMW standards are so low that it's acceptable that it fails regularly. How can they even release such junk. In 1992 Japanese high end cars had a much better automatic seat belt delivery system already, and i can wet that it never failed once over 140 kmiles. The whole AC system in this car is cheap, thermostats, evaporator, it's all the cheapest grade that BMW could find (i know exactly the manufacturers of these systems). It goes on and on, electrical, hydraulics, igition, mechanical issues, etc. If I had to do it again and knowing now how unreliable this car is i would have bought a GT-R, even though it's ugly looking and the interior is not stylish but it's Japanese quality. The only redeeming factor in the M3 is the handling and the NA V8 which are great but even that sometimes isn't enough to balance the long list of known unreliable parts.
Troll... Sell your POS BMW and go back to your GT-R/Japanese Car forum.

I've had two new E93 M3's and my current E92 for a total of 49,000 miles among the three of them, so I can't rally speak to their long time reliability, but I've experienced no issues with any of them.

I'm crazy about maintaining my cars and bikes properly so I took care of just about everything upon taking ownership 4 months ago, including Rod Bearings.

Car has been flawless.

The local gas station attendant and I are pretty much best friends at this point.
What did your rod bearings look like?

2013 E92 6-speed zcp stripper, 33k miles second owner. Muffler mod and bmc drop in

Had the car since 25k. No issues other than dealer changing spark plugs and not pushing ignition coils all the way in, which caused coil #2 to go bad. (warranty)
Headlight condensation (replaced under warranty)
Battery replaced before purchasing (warranty)

The best car i've owned so far and don't think I will ever sell it. I see values going up on these soon

2011.75 E90 6MT with about 56k miles. I've got an issue with my steering wheel being off center that's been a bear with the alignment shop. Guessing something is slightly bent from a previous owner.

Service engine light just popped on for emissions...Looks to be fuel cap O-ring was out of place or something with the evap. Coincidentally happened shortly after a fuel-up, so I'm leaning towards gas cap.

Gotta say that's a pretty minimal complaint!

If JDM cars are so great, then why is Nissan stopping all production of cars for 3 weeks due to quality control issues?

Go pound sand, you troll.
